Every idle word a man speaks...

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit.
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:33-37

So, are you saved?
Only God knows for sure, but as a Christian, I will confront anyone who does not show the fruits of the spirit. One way to be able to tell is by the words a man speaks. Is he using the "F" word and all of the other bad words that we know are not appropriate? If he is, you can pretty much bet he is not saved.

Is it bad of me to question a man on his salvation? I don't think so. It is not "me" judging him, it is me caring enough for his salvation, that I see something that is wrong, that I desire to see him correct it before it is too late. If at any time you get offended because I challenge you on whether you are a Christian or not, just realize that I do it because I care. I am so tired of listening to people who profess to be Christians and all the while will speak in ways that are inappropriate.

Blaspheme the name of the Lord by saying ...
dishonor God by your words you use when you say ...

Now consider this...
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things. Phil 4:8

True
Honest
Just
Pure
Lovely
Good report
Virtue
Praise

Now, look over your choice of words that you use. "F" this, "S" that, "A", "GD"
I have read some of these types of words on other blogs and have heard Christians use them before. Hence, the reason I question their salvation. For every idle word a man shall speak, he shall give account thereof in the day of Judgment! I am doing what Ezekiel tells us to do. I am warning people of the need to repent. Sure, this message goes out to non-believers, but it also goes out to people who profess to be Christians but will end up just as Jesus tells us...

Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. (this flies in the face of the universalist!)
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all [ye] workers of iniquity. (let those words soak in! workers of iniquity. Think of that the next time you want to use foul language or continue in your sins!)
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you [yourselves] thrust out. Luke 13:23-28

Again, we are called to point out false teachings and to help our brothers and sisters in Christ who are not living in the faith (as shown by their outward sins!) Just because someone "claims" to be a Christian, does not mean they are one. Just because they hold a "title" in a church, does not mean they are saved. By their fruits they shall be made known.

So, do you still want to leave all those bad words on your blog?
Do you still want to tell unsavory jokes?
Don't you think it is time to think of those things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report, of virtue and praise?
Do you still want to claim to be a Christian and still knock down anyone who preaches something that is biblical and can be backed up by the Bible?

Or would you rather make excuses?

What have you allowed to permeate in your life? in your blog? in your marriage? in your ministry?
Don't compromise God's Word. Remain faithful to Him. Go out and reach the lost the way Jesus did!

Are you a good person?

Are you going to the Transformed event in Ft. Myers in March?

http://www.wayofthemasterradio.com/transformed_FtMyers.shtml

I think you will be amazed at how powerful it is!! I plan to go to the one in St. Louis in April.

I have a very bad case of Driver's Cursing. I remain unconvinced that this on its own would be enough evidence on the judgement day to prove I was not saved when weighed against the other evidence.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

ALL.

If every lapse or mistake, deliberate or otherwise, were to be taken as a sign of not being saved .....

Still, let's not go there. God is the only Judge I need to be concerned about.

the problem Doorman is this...
EVERY idle word a man speaks!

It doesn't just say SOME, the bible says EVERY idle word. So, unless you are going to change Scripture to be pleasing to you, then you have created a god to suit yourself and your sins. The Bible is true, the Word of God is powerful and true and convicting. It has nothing to do with weighing the balance of good works versus bad works. You will have to give account in the day thereof for every idle word you speak, UNLESS you repent. If you don't want to repent of your sins, then God has something altoghether planned for you. Hell. I beg of you to repent of your sins and to put off your old self, the old cursing self who uses foul language, and put on the new creation that is in Christ Jesus. For unless you do, you will perish. That is not ME judging you, that is the Word of God out of the Bible condemning you. Please do not create a god that is pleased with your sins. He cannot look upon sin. You MUST repent and put your faith in Jesus Christ alone to save you. You say, "let's not go there." I say, let's do! Because if I don't at least warn you what the Bible ACTUALLY says, then your blood will be on my hands when you die and I don't want that, and I don't want you to die in your sins! I want you to go to heaven but it will only happen when you repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Jesus!

when a person is saved, there is a new attitude that will be evident in the saved person. It is an attitude that says, "I used to use foul language but because I am in Christ, I no longer want to do that." Sure, you might slip and say something bad once in a while, but when you take time to write foul words on your blog site, that shows a lack of evidence. It is shameful for someone who says he is a priest to be using the "F" word. You say you have never in your life been challenged on being a Christian. It is because no one has taken the time to challenge you, that you find it okay to use foul language and justify yourself before God. I am just calling you on it. If you are only going to read part of the Bible and believe only part of the Bible, then you will be in for a rude awakening. I am sure you will blast me on your site and on other sites for me saying this. I don't care because I am not doing it to hurt you, I am doing it to lift you up to the high level of holiness that Scripture says we are to strive for!

Brian: You took the words out of my mouth.

Doorman:

There is also the issue of dishonesty. You call yourself a Christian. You have the label of "Priest". But your words and deeds betray you.

In an earlier thread, you ended up getting banned because of a rude comment aimed at me. When it didn't get posted, you submitted it at my blog. I didn't post it there.

Then you went to your blog and made an entire post about"What did I do? Look at what they did to me". Seems you willfully lied. You knew. While you were doing all this "conversation" with us, you were over at another blog bragging about your pincer movement.

Poor Doorman, huh?

You owe alot of people an apology. You owe your readers at your blog an apology for lying to them. And you owe Nator and Jeff an apology for being such a poor example.

And you need to repent of your habitual lying.

All I did is catch part of what you do. God will miss nothing. What else is there that He will call you out on?

Brian:

What scripture is it that says something to the effect that "every man shall justify himself"... in other words, make excuses.

pastorbrianculver said...

Luke 10:29 comes to mind as one example...

For those who don't know what a "pincer movement" is, it's a military strategy.

Yeah. Poor abused, misunderstood Doorman.

Thanks Brian.

You know, you have to wonder. Doorman posted a link to this blog at least once. We know that people follow that link. And by now, even if he gets rid of it, they know about this.

Wonder what they will think of his little adventures?

It should bother them!

I don't think that Doorman owes me an appology at all. If I thought that, then I would have asked him for it. I didn't even ask other posters here who were talking directly about me for an appology!

pastorbrianculver said...

that's a fair statement Nator!

Tim Brown said...

(my guess is Doorman's off somewhere justifying himself...)

Tim Brown said...

I think it will be pretty fruitless trying to get him to "see". He will justify himself. But we know that we are told that we can judge a tree by its fruit. Jesus told us that we can do that, it's not presumptuous to do so.

The issue is, what will he do now that the hard evidence is out for everyone to see? Will he justify himself? Or will he say "Yes, what I did was wrong..." and make restitution to those he has lied to?

My guess is no. He has said "no" to the truth so long that I believe God has handed over to the "Zeitgeist"...

where in the Bible does it say that what we would call "curse words" are the "idle words" of which the Lord speaks? It would seem to me that the idle words are part of a much broader type: the words that casually condemn a brother or sister in the Lord, for instance, or that pronounce a condemnation over a whole church. This scripture ought to call us to very serious repentance;I'm surprised you would us it so casually to decry using the "f-bomb."

James 3:6 says, the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity...and it is set on fire of hell."

v.8 but the tongue can no man tame, it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

v.9 therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

v.14 but if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not and lie not against the truth.

v.15 this wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

v.16 for where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

I will agree with you that serious repentance is needed. Unfortunately, many professing Christians feel it is okay to be like the world. God calls us to a much higher standard to live by. James is right in saying that strife is an evil work. Think of the people who love to use the F bomb, are they saying it out of love for their neighbor? No. They speak out of anger. God knows your heart and He knows EVERY thought you have ever had. You can fool me, you can fool your family and friends, but you will NEVER be able to fool God. You will have to give account to Him for every idle word, deed and thought that you have had! Are you prepared to face God if you died today? You won't be so arrogant to think that it is okay to speak those curse words in the ear of Jesus, you will drop to your knees and acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior. Not just Savior, but He is LORD. Do you fear God? You should. The Bible speaks of a healthy fear of God that all people (yes, even Christians) should have.

pastorbrianculver said...

we should all be doing our best to watch our tongue, or better yet, to tame our tongue! Spiritual discernment, or lack thereof, is one reason many people will continue to live in their sins and show approval to others who sin. God speaks against those people who approve of others sins!
