33 "Facts" Mormons Won't Tell You When They Call at Your Door!

1. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they believe your Church is wrong, your Christian creeds are an abomination to God, and your pastor or Priest is a hireling of Satan.
2. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that there is salvation only in their church - all others are wrong.
3. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that those who have been through their temples are wearing secret underwear to protect themselves from "evil." This "evil" includes non - Mormons like you.
4. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU about their secret temple rites at all. If they did, you would spot them as non-Christians immediately.
5. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they think "familiar spirits" are good, and that their Book of Mormon has a "familiar spirit." Leviticus 19:31 says familiar spirits defile one, and are to be avoided at all costs.
6. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that women receive salvation only through their Mormon husbands, and must remain pregnant for all eternity.
7. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they intend to be gods themselves some day, and are helping to earn their exaltation to godhood by talking to you.
8. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they intend to have many wives in heaven, carrying on multiple sex relations throughout eternity, until they have enough children to populate their own earth, so they can be "Heavenly Father" over their own planet!
9. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that you were once a spirit-child of their heavenly father, and one of his numerous wives before you were born on earth.
10. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the Virgin Mary really wasn't a virgin at all but had sex relations with their heavenly father to produce the Mormon version of Jesus Christ.
11. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they believe Jesus had at least three wives and children while he was on this earth.
12. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the "heavenly father" they ask you to pray to with them, is really an exalted man that lives on a planet near the star base Kolob, and is not the Heavenly Father of the Bible at all.
13. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that Jesus was really Lucifer's brother in the spirit world, and it was only due to a "heavenly council" vote that Jesus became our redeemer instead of Satan!
14. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that there are over one hundred divisions in Mormonism. They conveniently "forget" this while criticizing the many denominations within the body of Christ.
15. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that all their so- called scriptures such as the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine and Covenants, and even their official "Mormon Doctrine" statements contradict each other on MAJOR doctrinal points. According the Mormons the King James Bible is likewise contradicted.
16. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the reason the Book of Mormon has no maps is because there is not one scrap of archaeological evidence to support it!
17. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that the state of Utah , which is predominately Mormon, has a higher than the national average of wife-beating, child abuse, and teenage suicide.
18. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that their prophet Joseph Smith was heavily involved in the occult when he founded Mormonism.
19. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that that they encourage visitations from dead relatives from the "spirit world," a practice forbidden in the Bible. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12.)
20. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that there are many accounts of Joseph Smith's first vision besides the one they present to you, and all are different.
21. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that their secret temple oaths are based on the Scottish Rite Masons.
22. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that before 1978 they considered the Negro race inferior, and even one drop of Negro blood prevented a person from entering their priesthood.
23. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they expect Christ to return to their temple in Missouri , but they haven't built the temple He 's supposed to return to, because they don't own the property. It is owned by the "Temple Lot Mormons" who have plans of their own, and won't let the Salt Lake City group buy it.
24. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they consider the Bible to be untrustworthy and full of errors.
25. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that Jesus' death on the cross only partially saves the believer.
26. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that that according to Anton Lavey's Satanic Bible, the demon god of the living dead is called "Mormo." Is it just a coincidence that the Mormons are so concerned with the dead?
27. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that on their Salt Lake City Temple they prominently display an upside-down star which is a Satanic symbol known as the Goat's head. Why?
28. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that they believe the Archangel Michael came down to earth with several of his celestial wives, and became Adam in the Garden of Eden.
29. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that that they believe the angel Gabriel came down to earth and became Noah in the days of the flood.
30. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that their Prophet Joseph Smith prophesied falsely many times. For example, he foretold the second coming of Christ for 1891. The Bible teaches that one false prophecy puts the prophet under death sentence. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).
31. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that their Prophet Joseph Smith did not die as a martyr as they claim, but was killed during a gun battle in which he himself killed two men and wounded a third.
32. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU about the Mountain Meadows Massacre in which they brutally murdered an innocent wagon train of settlers, of over one hundred men, women, and most of the children, traveling through Utah .
33. MORMONS WON'T TELL YOU that Joseph Smith taught that there were inhabitants on the moon, and Brigham Young taught there were inhabitants on the sun as well!
WHY WON'T MORMONS TELL YOU THESE THINGS?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Mormons, are well aware that if these facts were known to the convert prior to baptism, they would have very few converts! The Missionaries are well trained to keep most of these facts from their potential converts. Tragically, many Mormons may not even be fully aware of the doctrines and history of their own church. Every statement on this tract is true. Mormons are encouraged to check out their own publications for documentation of the above. After all, if the Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) has the truth, it can stand any amount of investigation.

Pastor, "Thou shalt not lie".........now I ask you, how do you sleep at night knowing that these are lies? I am LDS, and I say to you, Thou shalt not lie!

pastorbrianculver said...

Every single one of these statements are true and I can back them up with documentations from Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Ensign paper and most importantly THE BIBLE!! Not a single lie is posted on this post. I challenge you as a Mormon to read your D&C book and learn about the early teaching of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. They were false prophets and every prophet since then has followed in their paths. You must understand that I TOO WAS ONCE A MORMON! I know what I am talking about here. Please, if you truly want to learn the truths about Mormonism, send me a kind letter and I will be happy to provide you with all of the official mormon LDS documentation you need to see the truth for yourself.

I find the "Godmakers" hyperbole disappointing but, being British, I find that this doesn't go down so well here in the UK as it does in America.

That said, as a former Mormon (elder's quorum president when I left), everything here is true to Mormonism at some point in it's history and largely true even today.

I recall meeting with two missionaries and discussing with them the so-called martyrdom of Joseph Smith. I pointed out that Smith fired back and injured three of his attackers (some say two died though this is reasonably brought into question). They laughed, insisting that he couldn't possibly have a gun in prison.

I then showed them a commentary on the event, along with a picture of the sort of gun he used. They adopted the pose of experts and insisted that such a gun wouldn't have been developed by that time.

Then I revealed the source of my information, a Mormon Institute manual. They were stunned and one asked, "Can I have a copy of that?" They went away with some stuff to read and a lot to think about.

Guys, this is too important to gamble with. Find out the truth about Mormonism. More importantly, find out the truth about Jesus Christ and be thankful, as I am, for those who care enough to share the truth with you.

Mike's 4 tea, thanks for the comments. I would be interested in knowing how you came out of mormonism? can you share more so others can learn on what might work?

Michael,
thanks for the compliment!

What are you doing with your life now? are you really a pastor? What church, what do you believe, how long were you a member of the mormon church? Im very facinated in your story.

pastorbrianculver said...

Yes, I am a pastor, but even more so, now I am an evangelist. I desire to get out in the streets to reach the lost the way Jesus did. I am currently helping to lead a home church right now. It is hard to find a church that is not playing churchianity with their easy-believism style of worship. As for my beliefs...
Jesus is the Son of God which is part of the Trinity. He is not a son in the sense of mary having sex with an angel and he is not a created being that is a brother of lucifer. Jesus is the God who created everything. Not just earth but the whole universe. There is no other God. I believed He lived a sinless life and was crucified. He shed His blood for humanity. His blood is sufficient to cover ALL sins. We do not have to shed our own blood as mormons teach or even taught. My beliefs are very Scriptural and biblically based. Are you a current mormon?

I listened to a WotM cartoon of all of this stuff. It's just insane! And they have the nerve to call themselves "Christians."

The interesting thing is I bet many professing Christians would get offended that Mormons would call themselves Christians, too. However, those same professing Christians believe that premarital sex is OK, that pornography is OK, that homosexuality is OK... and they DARE call themselves Christians!!! If only they could see that they are committing the same crime against God that the Mormons are! In other words, they do not use the Bible as their source of truth!!!

Just found that interesting...

pastor I have been told that you were a Mormon for 3 years and that you learned many things about our church and I completely disagree with just about everything that you said but I must say you did get one thing right number 13 which states "that Jesus was really Lucifer’s brother in the spirit world and it was due to the heavenly council vote that Jesus became our redeemer and not Satan." sir this is true and I don’t know if you really understood what you were "taught" when you were in our religion which in and of itself shows your ignorance and lack of faith in our heavenly father. but to get to my point you were apart of that heavenly council you were one of those that chose to follow your heavenly father and show him that you were willing to be tried and learn things that you would have never been able to learn unless you came here. when you took that covenant with the lord you told him that you would do everything that you could to get back into his presence but here you are doing exactly what you teach you congregation every week you judging people and you are trying to take away their freedom that the U.S constitution gives them and as you know through reading your bible (which I strongly believe in too) that the only true judge is Jesus Christ himself... so I say to you sir that you need to take your own advice and you need to realize that maybe 3 years in a religion is not long enough to really know everything about it I have been in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints for my entire life and I still do not know everything and i know people that are 50 years old that still do not know everything as I bet you do not know everything in your religion so please get all of your facts straight before you go belittling other religions... oh and a side note I do not go after your religion so why do you have to go after mine?

pastorbrianculver said...

Mormon Boi,
Wow, where do I begin? I must admit that you have followed the path of every other mormon. You claim that everything is wrong but you provide no documentation from the Bible to disprove anything. I can provide all of the necessary documents to show the teachings of mormonism! Also, the length of time one is in a religion has absolutely no bearing on the authenticity of that religion. It is the teachings themselves that either stand or fall according to the Bible. Mormonism falls on every account. Please provide biblical documentation to prove that what I have said about mormonism is wrong. I will provide biblical documentation to prove that what God's Word says, is true! As for why do I talk bad about mormonism...
We are told in the bible to expose false teachings! Plain and simple that is what I am doing. You claim that Jesus was Lucifer's brother. Prove it by using the Bible.

pastorbrianculver said...

Mormon Boi,
as for the US Constitution, that has none, zero, application to God's Word. As for judging, you need to read the Bible instead of the Book of Mormon. We are told to judge those who call themselves Christians and yet do not live accordingly.

pastorbrianculver said...

one more thing Mormon Boi,
Read 1 Corinthians 15:46 in response to you comment about being a spiritual person BEFORE having a body of flesh. Here is what the bible says about that...

However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.

The bible has the answers when taken in context and not out of context like the LDS church does. I look forward to your response!

Typical anti-mormon garbage. This article mostly focuses on the tenants of doctrine that are completely advanced for people who do not understand the foundation of the religion.

If you want to attempt to persuade others of the falsity of Mormonism, disprove the Book of Mormon. You will find this can't be done.

From Elder Holland:

"For 179 years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious history—perhaps like no other book in any religious history. And still it stands. Failed theories about its origins have been born and parroted and have died—from Ethan Smith to Solomon Spaulding to deranged paranoid to cunning genius. None of these frankly pathetic answers for this book has ever withstood examination because there is no other answer than the one Joseph gave as its young unlearned translator. In this I stand with my own great-grandfather, who said simply enough, 'No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.'

If anyone is foolish enough or misled enough to reject 531 pages of a heretofore unknown text teeming with literary and Semitic complexity without honestly attempting to account for the origin of those pages—especially without accounting for their powerful witness of Jesus Christ and the profound spiritual impact that witness has had on what is now tens of millions of readers—if that is the case, then such a person, elect or otherwise, has been deceived; and if he or she leaves this Church, it must be done by crawling over or under or around the Book of Mormon to make that exit. In that sense the book is what Christ Himself was said to be: “a stone of stumbling, … a rock of offence,”11 a barrier in the path of one who wishes not to believe in this work. Witnesses, even witnesses who were for a time hostile to Joseph, testified to their death that they had seen an angel and had handled the plates."

You sir, are the one who has been deceived. Also, you have left the church by crawling around the Book of Mormon.

Explain how an uneducated youth from the backwoods of New York constructed this text in five months of work. Not possible.

The book is true and anyone who reads it will find that it testifies of Christ and will strengthen their testimony of Him. The Spirit testifies the book is true. What more do I need?

The book is true and the Spirit testifies that is so. I need no other witness.

Isn't it amazing how mormons will read all of the above 33 FACTS about their church and their prophets and yet still deny the truth to any of them, even though, their own documents will prove that what I say is true! The fact is that mormons do not truly understand what the bible says about false prophets. They do not understand the truth of who Jesus is (GOD, AND NOT BROTHER OF LUCIFER). Sadly, there are many self prophessing Christians who do not understand what the bible says either. They continue to live in their sins and are headed to hell. Okay my mormon friends. Tell me, what must a man do to be saved according to your own doctrine? Please include all references! Just beware, I will follow up with what the Bible says. God's Word WILL NOT BE MOCKED!

pastorbrianculver said...

shea, as for all of your so called proofs of the book of mormon, you have done nothing to prove the authenticy of it, and yet, i did prove the falseness of it by comparing it to the bible. The bible is the ultimate authority and the book of mormon does not stand up to it! God's Holy Word will always be victorious over manmade books like the BOM. YOU BELIEVE YOU WERE A SPIRIT BEFORE COMING TO EARTH AND YET I HAVE SHOWN IN SCRIPTURE HOW THAT IS NOT TRUE. YOU BELIEVE JESUS IS A BROTHER TO LUCIFER AND YET THE BIBLE SAYS NOTHING LIKE THAT AT ALL, IN FACT, THE BIBLE SAYS IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD AND THE WORD WAS GOD! GOD IS THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS, INCLUDING ALL ANGELS. YOU WILL NOT WIN, IN FACT, THE COST OF LOSING THIS BATTLE OVER THE BIBLE WILL COST YOU YOUR VERY SOUL. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY BECAUSE YOU ARE DRAGGING THEM DOWN TO HELL WITH YOU.

I request a debate 6 months ago, and still havent heard back.

What is your response to that?

Mike Tea said...

Brian, you keep pointing out that Mormons offer no reasoned defence of their position and no documentation and you are right. I have learned over the years that the only thing a Mormon can offer is assertions. They will tell you that this is true and that is true but offer you not a single reason for believing what they assert to be be true, thinking they have done the job by simple assertion.

Well, if its testimony you want I testify most earnestly that all Pastor Culver's 33 Facts are accurate and true representations of Mormonism and, more to the point, contradict the clear teaching of the Bible.

Now I am sure no Mormon would be satisfied simply with what I have just written and will be bound to insist on some evidence and yet every Mormon expects us to be satisfied with a testimony, an assertion, an assurance of sincerity "I wouldn't be on my mission if this wasn't true!"

As to Holland's statement, well you begin to understand where Mormons get their attitude when their leaders are so ungracious, characterising every crtiticism of the BOM as not only wrong but motivated by ignorance or malice. That is not apologetics but blind panic in the face of a strong challenge to what he believes.

pastorbrianculver said...

i will not debate a fool. I will stand by the Word of God. YOU cannot and will not be able to refute anything that I have posted on here because I have mormon documentation and the BIBLE to stand behind my statements. ALL YOU HAVE IS A FALSE BOOK WRITTEN BY A FALSE PROPHET! I WILL NOT GIVE SPACE TO FALSE DOCTRINE ON HERE. IT IS MY DESIRE TO SEE PEOPLE COME TO A POINT OF SALVATION, NOT TO A POINT OF DAMNATION! by the way, do mormons still have men walking on the moon and sun???

pastorbrianculver said...

oh and shea...
the spirit of the antichrist is more than happy to testify to a false book and false prophet. He is able to provide a burning in your bosom!

pastorbrianculver said...

tyler and shea,
I will not post comments with either a link to a false christian site (it is my desire to teach the truth of God's Word and not to allow anyone a chance to be fooled into believing a lie as you have been. I also won't post personal email addresses on here so you can get in contact with believers (or have someone contact you) in an effort to be deceived. The devil is crafty and wants nothing more than to get his ugly foot inside the door of a man's heart. You want me to list every one of my documentations. I would, but first you need to tell me which of the 33 facts most bothers you. I will show and prove that what I am saying is true! This is my blog used to glorify God, so you do not set the rules here, I do by the grace of God. I know, I know, someday you will be a god yourself and could probably annihilate me at that time! Got to tell you, I am not too worried about that one!

Pastor Culver,

I have respectfully requested all documentation for 33 claims. If you dont want to post my email on your blog, that is understandable. You can either use it for your personal use (to send me the sources) or post the documentation on your blog, as you have said you would do.

If you need another way to get in contact with me, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your response,

Respectfully,

Tyler Hogge

pastorbrianculver said...

and like I said, just show me a couple of the ones you disagree with in particular and I will provide documentations. I will not spend my whole day typing just to have you end up saying "I still disagree with you." you need to prove yourself to me first as being sincere. I truly doubt that is the case here. Which of the 33 FACTS are most bothersome to you (two or three to start with) and I will provide documentation. Just remember this one thing, if a prophet prophecies and it does not come to pass, that man is NOT a prophet! He can get several right, but if he is wrong on just one prophecy, then he is a false prophet and you are not to be afraid of him! HE WILL DIE! and his death will lead to hell. Are you willing to follow a man to hell? Seriously, you need to throw the book of mormon away and only follow the Jesus of the Bible! Your Jesus and the one of the book of mormon are not the same.

honestly i can say toure an idiot and one of the biggest hypocrites thats tried to bring mormons down. you keep saying the book of mormon isnt true and that only the bible is right and "the word of God" but what gives you the authority to say that whos to say that maybe your bible is the one thats wrong whos to say that maybe a few thousand years ago a corrupted person didnt go and change the bible to be the way he wanted and spread it around as he pleased. basically you should stop posting all your crap and lies to the world whe nyou really have no idea what youre talking about. and as for all the "proof" you keep saying you have, well there have been 33 comments, and youve been asked to give proof and havent so until you give solid proof that the mormons are wrong you really have only anti-mormons as your followers. almost like when satan was cast out of heaven and had his followers hmmmmmm, new thought how do we know that you werent kicked out of the mormon church instead of leaving. wheres your proof to that.

pastorbrianculver said...

hey there mormon boi...
besides having terrible spelling in your letter to me as anonymous, you also seem to lack the ability to understand the meaning of words. Really now, a hypocrite as an exmormon?? What an oxymoron that is! Any way, since this is my blog, you and other false believers do not get to control what I say or do not say on here. The next point is one that all mormons seem to make. You say these are all lies and yet you and others seem to not know their own scriptures and texts. You can find on many of my other posts all of the evidence you need to validate my point. I only use the KJV of the Bible. But of course, you feel that only mormons are capable of properly interpreting the bible. Not too hard to interpret it when the Holy Spirit leads you. Resorting to name calling is really beneath you isn't it? I mean, tell me something...
what must a mormon to do to go to heaven. I ask you this one question. Please answer it if you are not afraid to do so. Or is it against your religion to try to win souls to Christ (even though your Christ is not the one found in the Bible!

pastorbrianculver said...

here you go for a few of the FACTS. I use the official LDS website to validate what I am saying.

You say I lie when I say that mormons believe they will become gods themselves.

the official LDS site says differently.

You say I lie when I say that mormons feel they will populate their own planet with spirit children.

The offical LDS site says differently.

You say I lie about spirit children.

Guess what your very own LDS website says...

go to...
http://www.lds.org/library/display/0,4945,11-1-13-59,00.html

This deals with Exaltation according to your very own LDS website. It is OFFICIAL from the LDS leaders in Utah!

I actually enjoy showing ALL MORMONS THE ERRORS OF THEIR FAITH! I ENJOY THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE THE TRUE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST (AS FOUND IN THE BIBLE) TO ALL MORMONS.

If you have told a lie, you are a liar and headed for hell. All the "works" you do in the world, will not make a bit of difference in getting you into heaven. Do you understand that? Getting baptized will not save you. Drinking decaffeneited cola's or coffee will not get you into heaven. being a good person will not get you into heaven. I hope you understand this! It is only by faith in Jesus Christ (of the bible and not of mormonism) that will save you! THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PEOPLE. YOUR JESUS IS A BROTHER TO LUCIFER. MY JESUS IS GOD! AND THE CREATOR OF ALL ANGELS! THEY ARE NOT THE SAME! YOU ARE WALKING A VERY DANGEROUS LINE BY FOLLOWING THE JESUS OF MORMONISM. I AM PRAYING FOR YOUR SOUL.

pastorbrianculver said...

at the bottom of this page you will see links to this post. click on the one that says mormon links. It will take you to some very good links that I have put together on mormonism. I pray that all mormons and nonmormons alike will click on those links and be enlightened into a cult and their beliefs.

pastorbrianculver said...

Tyler, you asked me to prove certain numbers of the 33 facts. I just finished showing three of them and I provided lds documentation. And yet, you still want to believe that I cannot document anything. I can document every single one of these but like I said before, I will not debate a fool who ignores what the bible says in favor of what the Book of Mormon says. Not going to happen on my site!

Anonymous said...

Hahaha
I love how you finally provided documentation, and then no one says anything! I also love being referred to as an "anti-mormon" all the time... Is that supposed to be an insult?

I am very thankful that God has saved me from ALL of my sins, if I tried to do it on my own, I would have wound up going to hell a LONG time ago...Jesus says "I am THE way THE truth, THE life, no one comes to the Father, except by ME."

He doesn't say by your good works, he doesn't say by "doing your best" he doesn't say by "living a righteous life" He says BY ME...You can't come to the Father through a false Jesus...You can't come to the Father through the Jesus of the Book of Mormon.

Simple as that.

You don't believe me, take GOD'S WORD for it.

I am very sad for the souls of the people in the Mormon Organization, so blinded by sin.

Sometimes it's hard, when people get so stubborn to the point where all you can do is pray.

But God has AMAZING power, He can change anyone! :)

I truly believe that in a hundred years or so, the entire Mormon empire will crumble. What a glorious day that will be!!!!

God REIGNS, In all situations! He will bring justice, He is Judge of ALL, even Judge over those who refuse to have faith in Him...

Praise GOD for HIS mercy, HIS power, and HIS love! :)

I don't have to worry about the mormon religion, God is bigger than any occult...mormons have ZERO power. God has ALL power. He will bring down an organization that claims "Christianity" but yet leads SO many souls astray.

I rest in knowing that I worship a God who WILL destroy the mormon "church", and all the times their lies have made me angry, have led so many to burn in hell for eternity, I rest in knowing that God will justly and faithfully judge each and every one of those people.

As I said before, so I say it again PRAISE GOD!!!!! :)

Why does everybody have to fight? Isn't that satans work? Look, I am LDS, but I don't think Christians are going to hell. My best friends are different faiths...evangelist, jewish, agnostic, athiest...I love them all the same. It is true that I haven't learned many of these things in the church, but when I read these things and do my own private research bc of any question I may have, it only strngthens my testimony...but that's just me. We;re all different and can have different views. I read the bible and the book of mormon everyday. That's what we learn to do in our church. As for Brig Young and Joseph Smith-I wasn't there, so I don't know what was going on then. I think that sometimes stories trickle down the times like whisper down the lane. And I just have to rely on my faith, and keep in prayer constantly to receive my answers. Pastor Brian, we love the same God. I know you are an ex mormon, and I am sorry that things happened that made you see the religion in a not so great light. I'm not saying you're wrong for feeling what you feel. It's part of the freedom we have. Gods will is Gods will. It breaks my heart when I see people fight and argue over these topics bc GOD should be our common ground and bring unity to us all. Talking about Our Redeemer and His works should bring peace to our hearts. I say that on your blog, but to all mormons not being nice to you as well. We all agree on this, right: John 13:34-35
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Goodnight and Godbless! :)

These are not stories that trickled down and somehow got changed. The stuff about BY and JS are found in their own teachings and are documented in the D&C, the Ensign, etc. As for loving the same God. Not even close and that is what you must realize. Your god is unable to save you from your sins. Your god has to ignore the fact that the bible says that if any man come to you with another gospel, let him be accursed. Your god created Jesus just like he created Lucifer. Your god was a created being just like you are. MY GOD saves us from our sins. MY GOD is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. MY GOD is the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. MY GOD is coeternal with Jesus and the Spirit. They have always been in existence. In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. And the word became flesh! Your god says you can become a god. MY GOD says that He alone is God and there is none other. Jesus said, I and the Father are One! Your god gave Joseph Smith revelation that man lived on the moon and on the son. MY GOD created the moon and all of the stars. Not for man to live on but for our eyes to behold the greatness of Him. I have no hatred for mormons but then again, maybe I do. I am to hate the things that God hates and the false doctrine that the mormon church throws out there, God hates them!

Who is hiding?

I asked for each statement's documentation, and haven't received it in one full year.
Your words:
" if you truly want to learn the truths about Mormonism, send me a kind letter and I will be happy to provide you with ALL of the official mormon LDS documentation you need to see the truth for yourself."

Pastor culver, I have requested ALL of the documenation (I am already aware of the 3 or 4 you referenced).

When will you keep your word, or were you lying? Either you arent going to show me ALL documentation like you said, or you will.

pastorbrianculver said...

Because in your case, it will do not good. You are spiritually discerned. You are ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of God. You have seen the few that I gave you and instead of commenting on them and proving that I am wrong, you just want to waste my time. I won't do that on someone who is not sincere.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 John 1:10-11

I will not wish you well doing today sir. You are a heathen in God's eyes and you refuse to see the truth of God's Holy Word. Hell awaits you unless you repent and open your eyes to the true gospel of Jesus Christ (not Lucifer's brother and definitely not a man who became a god)

Ok, sounds good!

I figured that I wouldnt get the full list, but thought I'd try anyways. And I dont disagree with the three that you listed. I agree with them. I disagree with others, thats why I want the full list. Oh, and because you said you would give it to me.

Best,

Tyler

pastorbrianculver said...

see you just proved my point. You agree that you mormons believe you will become gods yourself. That completely goes against the bible. That right there tells me not to waste my time on preseting 30 other truths. You will ultimately have to admit that they are true too. But if it does not bring you to a point of repentance, then there is no hope for you. You are as lost as they come. You will never be a god of your own planet. Prove it using scripture The KJV bible and not the false teachings of the Book of Mormon. Prove that Jesus came to america and I will show you exactly what the scripture is talking about when it speaks of other sheep that are not of this fold. That is talking about gentiles and not the jews. The apostle paul went to preach to the gentiles.

Unknown said...

Yes, I believe it, and no it doesnt go against the bible. it goes against your interpretation of the bible.

However, If you would like to argue this, then lets do it. Do what you said you would do. Keep your word. Give me the references (there are 4 in there that I dont believe you actually have references to) - so prove me wrong.

pastorbrianculver said...

yes it does go against the bible. Prove it by using scripture. You can also save me a lot of time by telling which four you think I cannot prove. If it comes down to interpretation, I will stick to mathew henry commentary any day over the false teachings of mormonism

Ya - you dont have documentation for all 30.

Which is exactly why I asked for it.

Ill call this the end my involvement in the convo unless you want to keep your word.

Until we meet,

Tyler, you are doing exactly what a non christian would do. You REFUSE to use God's Holy Word to back up your claims. I have the documentation but like I said, you are just playing around and you really do not want the truth. It is sad Tyler that hell awaits you...

Ha this post is a joke. I'm LSD and have read alot about Joseph smith and brigham young from history of the church, personal accounts and other books. To be honest only a few of your points are true. When I was a full time missionary I would tell people we can become gods, why else are we here.... To be tested.... Tested for what ? We only have tests in life to give us strength and draw closer to our father in heaven. I laugh at sad people like yourself who try to " bring people to Christ" when all you do is play devils advocate. But if people do leave the Lds church because of what lies you've said all u can say is when judgement comes you sir will defiantly not be living with god. But your real goal is to be a son of pedition isn't it. Sorry only those who have seen Christ face to face and then reject him become sons of pedition. And as for missionaries not knowing about Joseph smiths life... He was human. He made mistakes, no one says he was perfect but he has done more to save mankind other than jesus Christ himself

pastorbrianculver said...

First off, I believe you might be on LSD, but I am sure you meant to say you are LDS for mormons.

you said, "When I was a full time missionary I would tell people we can become gods, why else are we here.... To be tested.... Tested for what ? We only have tests in life to give us strength and draw closer to our father in heaven."

The bible tells us why we are here. It is not to be tested as you claim. Revelation 4:11 says, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

We were created to glorify God and for His pleasure. That is it. It is not about US, it is about HIM.

You also said, "We only have tests in life to give us strength and draw closer to our father in heaven."

The bible tells us that we are to draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto us. We are to be obedient to His Word and without obedience, the love of the Father is not in you.

Let's examine another one of your statements. "But if people do leave the Lds church because of what lies you've said all u can say is when judgement comes you sir will defiantly not be living with god."

First off, none of these statements are lies. Prove to me that they are lies and I will prove to you that YOU are in error. You are correct on one thing, I will be saying to you, "You sir, will definitely not be living with God." UNLESS ye repent and turn to the one true and living God of the Bible.

Here is another example of how little you know about the bible. "But your real goal is to be a son of pedition isn't it. Sorry only those who have seen Christ face to face and then reject him become sons of pedition." Okay, use the bible to prove that point. Go ahead and do it. You can't because it is no where to be found in the bible. It was created by a false prophet that you follow. The bible tells us that you are either a child of God or a child of the Devil. I am a child of God, a born again believer, a repentant person who has turned away from sin. The ones who will go to hell are those who have rejected Jesus as Lord and Savior PERIOD. Those who profess to be Christians but are still living in their sins will go to hell as well. From your statement, you make it sound like as long as you don't reject Him you will go to heaven. The bible is crystal clear that you MUST Repent of your sins in order to go to heaven.

And finally, you said, "And as for missionaries not knowing about Joseph smiths life... He was human. He made mistakes, no one says he was perfect but he has done more to save mankind other than jesus Christ himself"

pastorbrianculver said...

Making mistakes is one thing. Telling false prophecies in quite a different story. Look at what the bible says about such people.

Has the Bible warned us about false prophets?
Yes,

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before."
Matthew 24:24, 25.

Jesus has warned us in advance, false prophets would be here, they would look good, show great signs and wonders, for one reason: TO DECEIVE THE VERY ELECT.

What does First John 4:1 tell us to do concerning the false prophet?
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
6C. Does Joseph Smith pass the test of a true prophet?
No, one false prophecy would forever disqualify a man as a true prophet of GOD.

Deuteronomy 18:20-22.

"But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, [but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."
6D. How did the Mormon Church try to hide the facts that Joseph Smith is a False Prophet?
Joseph Fielding Smith stated in 1972,

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, that when I give a commandment to any of the sons of men to do work unto my name, and those sons of men go with all their might and cease not their diligence, and their enemies come upon them and hinder them from performing that work, behold it behooveth me to require that work no more at the hands of those sons of men, but to accept their offerings."
1972, Answers to Gospel Questions, Vol. 4, p. 112.

6E. What does the Bible say the false prophet would do when he was caught?
"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his visions, when he hath prophesied."
Zechariah 13:4

6F. Should a sincere person follow a false prophet for any reason?
No,

"...the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him."
Ezekiel 14:10

pastorbrianculver said...

6G. What does the Mormon Church say about following a false prophet?
Joseph Smith should be exposed as a False Prophet!

"Mormonism, as it is called, must stand or fall on the story of Joseph Smith. He was either a prophet of God, divinely called, properly appointed and commissioned, or he was one of the biggest frauds this world has ever seen. There is no middle ground.
If Joseph Smith was a deceiver who willfully attempted to mislead the people then he should be exposed: his claims should be refuted, and his doctrines whom to be false, for the doctrines of an imposter cannot be made to harmonize in all particulars with divine truth. If his claims and declarations were build upon fraud and deceit, there would appear many errors and contradiction, which would be easy to detect. The doctrines of false teachers will not stand the test when tried by the accepted standards of measurement, the scriptures."
Doctrines of Salvation by Joseph F. Smith, Vol. 1 p. 188.

6H. Joseph Smith is a false prophet! What is the punishment of a false prophet?
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!"
Ezekiel 13:13

"The false prophet...were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."
Revelation 19:20 20 and Revelation 20:20

6I. Can a true church come from a false prophet?
No, according to Jesus.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
(A ravening wolf will take your temporal life, a false prophet will take your eternal life)

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
(We shall know them by what they say)

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
(The fruits of the prophet is his prophecies)

Matthew 7:15-20

6J. Joseph Smith is a false prophet, we are not to be afraid of him.
Deuteronomy 18:21-22

"And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."

Now take a look at several (only ONE is needed to prove a person is a false prophet according to God and His Word) of Joseph Smith's prophecies.

What was Joseph Smith's Prophecy concerning the Temple?
"Hearken, O ye elders of my church, saith the Lord your God, who have assembled yourselves together, according to my commandments, in this land, which is the land of Missouri, which is the land I have appointed and consecrated for the gathering of the saints.
Wherefore, this is the land of promise, and the place for the city of Zion.
And thus saith the Lord your God, if you will receive wisdom here is wisdom. Behold, the place which is now called Independence is the center place; and a spot for the temple is lying westward, upon a lot which is not far from the court-house."
Doctrine and Covenants, Section 57:1-3

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, in Zion, Jackson County, Missouri, July, 1831.

5B. Did Joseph Smith repeat this prophecy in 1832?
Yes, in 1832.

"A revelation of Jesus Christ unto his servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and six elders, as they united their hearts and lifted their voices on high.
Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the restoration of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his prophets, and for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of New Jerusalem.
Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.
Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple, shall be reared in this generation.
For verily, this generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the glory of The Lord, which shall fill the house."
Doctrine and Covenants, Section 97:19, Revelation given through Joseph Smith, the Prophet, at Kirkland, Ohio, September 23, 1832.

5C. Did Joseph Smith repeat this prophecy in 1833?
Yes,

"And the nations of the earth shall honor her, and shall say: Surely Zion is the city of our God, and surely Zion cannot fall, neither be moved out of her place, for God is there, and the hand of the Lord is there."
Doctrine and Covenants, Section 84:1-5, Revelation given through Joseph Smith, the Prophet, at Kirkland, Ohio, August 2, 1833.

5D. Was the prophecy repeated in December of 1833 by Joseph Smith?
Yes:

A revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet at Kirkland, Ohio, December 16, 1833.

Doctrine and Covenants, Section 101:17-21

17. Zion shall not be moved out of her place, not withstanding her children are scattered.
18. They that remain, and are pure in heart, shall return, and come to their inheritances, they and their children, with songs of everlasting joy, to build up the waste places of Zion—
19. And, all these things that the prophets might be fulfilled.
20. And, behold, there is none other place appointed than that which I have appointed; neither shall there be any other place appointed than that which I have appointed, for the work of the gathering of my saints."
Doctrine and Covenants, Section 107:17-20, 12:16, 1833, p. 172.

5E. Did the Elder Orson Pratt believe the prophecy given by Joseph Smith, that the temple would be built in Jackson County, Missouri?
Yes,

"...And when the saints were driven out from Jackson County, almost all in the Church expected that they would almost speedily be restored; and a person was considered almost an apostate that would say, they would not return in five years, or ten at the furthest;"
"The people think of almost everything else but the redemption of Zion, and speak to individuals about it, and they put it off a great distance ahead. But I do not feel to go to this extreme. I will give you my opinion; so far as the revelation go, in speaking of this subject, I think that this event is nearer than this people are aware of."
1845 Journal of Discourse, Vol. 3, p. 17. A discourse by Elder Orson Pratt, May 20, 1855.

5F. Did President Heber C. Kimball believe the prophecy of returning to Jackson County and building the temple given by Joseph Smith?
Yes,
A discourse by President Heber C. Kimball delivered in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City, August 2, 1857.

"But if you cannot learn to keep the commandments of God in Great Salt Lake City...how do you expect to keep them in Jackson County?—for we are sure to go back there as we exist."
Journal of Discourses, Vol. 5. p. 134 A.

5G. Did President Heber C. Kimball Expect to go back to Jackson County, Missouri?
Yes. He indicated this in his speech, December 17, 1857.

"They are holy places, and they will be held sacred even as Jackson County.." "and I shall yet see the day that I will go back there, with brother Brigham and with thousands and millions of others, and we will go precisely according to the dedication of the Prophet of the living God. Talk to me about my having any dubiety on my mind about these things being fulfilled!—I am just as confident of it as I am that I am called to be a saviour of men, and no power can hinder it."
1857 Journal of Discourses, Vol 6. p. 190.

5H. Did Elias Smith believe Joseph Smith's Prophecy about returning to Jackson County?
Yes, 1857.

"I expect to live to be an old man, and to go back with the saints to the land of Jackson County."
(President B. Young; "God grant it.")

1857 Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 221

5I. How many others did Heber C. Kimball say would go back with him to Jackson County?
With thousands of this people.

"Brethren, I shall go to Jackson County with thousands of this people who will be faithful to their integrity; but we cannot go back until we have built some good houses."
1861 Journal of Discourses, Vol. 8, p. 350, Disclosure by Heber C. Kimball.

5J. Did Elder George A. Smith teach that this generation would not pass away until the temple was built?
Yes:

"Who is there that is prepared for this movement back to the center stake of Zion, and where are the architects amongst us that are qualified to erect this temple and the city that will surround it." "And let me remind you that it is predicted that this generation shall not pass away till a temple shall be built, and the glory of the Lord rest upon it, according to the promises."
March 10, 1861, Journal of Discourse, Vol. 9, p. 71.

5K. What generation did Elder George Q. Cannon teach would build the temple?
The generation in which the revelation was given, which is upwards of thirty years ago.

"The day is near when a Temple shall be reared in the Center Stake of Zion, and the Lord has said his glory shall rest on that House in this generation, that is in the generation in which the revelation was given, which is upwards of thirty years ago."
Journal of Discourses, Vol. 10, p. 344, October 23, 1864.

5L. Did the Latter-day Saints have more faith in returning to Jackson County, than the Jews in returning to Jerusalem?
Yes,

"We have just as much confidence in returning to Jackson County and the building of a great city that will remain there a thousand years before the earth passes away, as the Jews have in returning to Jerusalem and re-building the waste places of Palestine. In fact, we have more faith than they have; for they have been so many generations cast out of their land that their descendants have almost lost their faith in returning. But, the Latter-day Saints are fresh, as it were. There are many of the old stock, who passed through all those tribulations I have named, still living, whose faith in returning to Jackson County, and the things that are coming, is as firm and fixed as the throne of the Almighty."
Elder Orson Pratt, in a discourse delivered in the Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, April 10, 1870. Journal of Discourses, Vol. 13, p. 138.

5M. Did the generation of 1832 believe they would return and build up the City of Zion in Jackson County including the Temple where the cornerstone had been laid?
Yes, as much as they expected the sun to rise and set tomorrow. God has spoken, it must come to pass. This is our faith.

"God promised in the year 1832 that we should, before this generation then living had passed away, return and build up the City of Zion in Jackson County; that we should return and build up the temple of the Most High where we formerly laid the corner stone. He promised us that He would manifest Himself on that temple, that the glory of God should be upon it; and not only upon the temple, but within it, even a cloud by day and a flaming fire by night.
We believe in these promises as much as we believe in any promise ever uttered by the mouth of Jehovah. The Latter-day Saints just as much expect to receive a fulfillment of that promise during the generation that was in existence in 1832 as they expect that the sun will rise and set to-morrow. Why? Because God cannot lie. He will fulfill all His promises. He has spoken, it must come to pass. This is our faith."
Journal of Discourses, Vol. 13, p. 362, Discourse by Elder Orson Pratt, May 5, 1870.

5N. Did Elder Orson Pratt continue to preach after thirty nine years had passed, that the generation of 1832 would still build the temple on the spot that had been selected?
Yes, "all the people that were living thirty-nine years ago have not passed away; but before they do pass away this will be fulfilled."

"We just as much expect that a city will be built, called Zion, in the place and on the land which has been appointed by the Lord our God, and that a temple will be reared on the spot that has been selected, and the corner-stone of which has been laid, in the generation when this revelation was given; we just as much expect this as we expect the sun to rise in the morning and set in the evening; or as much as we expect to see the fulfillment of any of the purposes of the Lord our God, pertaining to the works of his hands. But say the objector, "thirty nine years have passed away." What of that? The generation has not passed away; all the people that were living thirty-nine years ago have not passed away; but before they do pass away this will be fulfilled."
Journal of Discourses, Vol. 14, p. 275. Discourse by Elder Orson Pratt, delivered in the New Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, April 9, 1871.

5O. Did Elder Orson Pratt teach that the generation of forty-two years ago would commence a house of God in Jackson County, Missouri, and actually complete the same?
Yes. "...before that generation should all pass away."

"God said, in the year 1832, before we were driven out of Jackson County, in a revelation which you will find here in this book, that before that generation should all pass away, a house of the Lord should be built in that county. (Jackson County).

pastorbrianculver said...

This was given forty-two years ago. That generation then living was not only to commence a house of God in Jackson County, Missouri, but was actually to complete the same. And when it is completed the glory of God should rest upon it."
Interest Manifested, ETO p. 111.

pastorbrianculver said...

5P. Did Elder Orson Pratt change his mind on how large a group would return to Jackson County?
Yes, 1875.

"We need not expect, from what God has revealed, that a very great number of those who were then in the Church and who were driven, will have the privilege of returning to that land."
Journal of Discourses, Vol. 17, p. 291. February 7, 1875.

5Q. In 1935 did the Latter-day Saints teach the temple would still be built by the generation of 1832?
Yes,

"I firmly believe that there will be some of that generation who were living when this revelation was given who shall be living when this temple is reared. And I do not believe that the Lord has bound himself to accomplish the matter within 100 years from 1832." "I have full confidence in the word of the Lord and that it shall not fail."
The Way to Perfection, Salt Lake City, p. 270.

5R. Was the temple built by the generation of 1832? Was the prophecy of 1832 considered a false prophecy by Joseph Fielding Smith in 1972?
No, the temple was not built.

Yes, it is a false prophecy because no soul living in 1832 was still alive.

"It may be reasonable to assume that in giving this revelation to the prophet the Lord did have in mind the generation of people who would still be living with the one hundred years from the time of announcement of the revelation, and that they would enjoy the blessings of the temple, and a glorious cloud would rest upon it. It is also reasonable to believe that no soul living in 1832 is still living in mortality on the earth."
Answers to Gospel Questions, Vol. 4. p. 112, Joseph Fielding Smith.

5S. Has a temple ever been built on this property?
No,
The Latter-day Saints never built a temple in Missouri at the place appointed. They do not own the property.

In fact, Zion was moved out of her place two weeks prior to Smith receiving this prophecy. He was in Kirkland, Ohio, and unaware of the Missouri problem when he gave the revelation.

Notice in the quote below, the temple had to be on the "consecrated spot I have appointed." By the above, all authority after Joseph Smith believed that Zion would be on the consecrated spot.

Below is the original prophecy by Joseph Smith, Doctrine and Covenants, Section 84:1-5, 31 given September, 1832.

1. "A revelation of Jesus Christ unto his servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and six elders, as they united their hearts and lifted their voices on high.
2. Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the restoration of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his prophets, and for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of New Jerusalem.
3. Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.
4. Verily, this is the word of the Lord, and that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.
5. For verily this generation shall not pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall even the glory of the Lord, which shall fill his house."
31. "which house shall be built unto the Lord in this generation, upon the "consecrated spot as I have appointed."
5T. By the words of the church in 1972 is Joseph Smith a false prophet?
Yes: Joseph Fielding Smith stated:

"It is reasonable to believe that no soul living in 1832 is still living in mortality on the earth."
Answers to Gospel Questions, Vol. 4, p. 112, Joseph Fielding Smith.

5U. Did Joseph Smith predict the coming of the Lord would be fifty-six years from 1835?
Yes, on February 14, 1835

"President Smith then stated that the meeting had been called, because God had commanded it; and it was made known to him by vision and by the Holy Spirit. He then gave a revelation of some of the circumstances attending us while journeying to Zion...our trial, sufferings; and said God had not designed all this for nothing, but He had it in remembrance yet; and it was the will of God that those who went to Zion, with a determination to lay down their lives, if necessary, should be ordained to the ministry, and go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time, or the coming of the Lord, which was nigh—even fifty-six years would wind up the scene."
History of the Church, Vol. 2, p. 182.

5V. Did Joseph Smith predict that Zion would be the city of God and never removed from its place?
Yes, on August 2, 1833

"And the nations of the earth shall honor her, and shall say: Surely Zion is the city of our God, and surely Zion cannot fall, neither be moved out of her place, for God is there, and the hand of the Lord is there."
Doctrine and Covenants 97:19

Two weeks prior to this prophecy (July 20, 1883) Zion was moved and leading Latter-day Saints officials were run out of town.

5W. What did Joseph Smith predict about Salem, Massachusetts?
"And it shall come to pass in due time, that I will give this city into your hands, that you shall have power over it, insomuch that they shall not discover your secret parts; and its wealth pertaining to gold and silver shall be yours."
Doctrine and Covenants, Section III, Vs. 4

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the prophet at Salem, Massachusetts, August 6, 1836.

5X. Did Joseph Smith predict that there were men on the moon?
Yes,

"The inhabitants of the moon are more of a uniform size than the inhabitants of the earth, being about 6 feet in height. They dress very much like the quaker style and are quite general in style, or the fashion of dress.
They live to be very old; coming generally, near a thousand years.
This is the description of them as given by Joseph the Seer, and he could 'see' whatever he asked the father in the name of Jesus to see."
Journal of Oliver B. Huntington, Vol. 2 p. 166.

5Y. Did Brigham Young teach that the moon and the sun are inhabited?
Yes.

"Who can tell us of the inhabitants of this little planet that shines of an evening, called the moon?...When you inquire about the inhabitants of that sphere you find that the most learned are as ignorant in regard to them as the most ignorant of their fellows. So it is with regard to the inhabitants of the sun. Do you think it is inhabited? I rather think it is. Do you think there is any life there? No question of it; it was not made in vain. It was made to give light to those who dwell upon it, and to other planets; and so will this earth when it is celestialized."
Journal of Discourses 13:271, July 24, 1870.

False Prophecy List: Deuteronomy 18:20-22
1. Inhabitants of the Moon

"The inhabitants of the moon are more of a uniform size than the inhabitants of the earth, being about 6 feet in height. They dress very much like the quaker style and are quite general in style, or the fashion of dress. They live to be very old; coming, generally, near a thousand years. This is the description of them as given by Joseph the Seer, and he could 'see' whatever he asked the father in the name of Jesus to see."
(Journal of Oliver B. Huntington, Vol 2. p. 166 of typed.)

2. The Temple that was never built:

In a revelation given by Joseph Smith, September 22 and 23, in 1832, the following appears:

4. "Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.
5. For verily this generation shall not pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the glory of the Lord, which shall fill the house.
31. Therefore, as I said concerning the sons of Moses for the sons of Moses—and also the sons of Aaron shall offer an acceptable offering and sacrifice in the house of the Lord, which house shall be built unto the Lord in this generation, upon the consecrated spot as I have appointed."
Doctrine and Covenants, Sec. 84, v. 4, 5, 31

On May 5, 1870, the Mormon Apostle Orson Pratt stated that the Mormons would return and build the temple in that generation because God could not lie:

"...God promised in the year 1832 that we should, before the generation THEN living had passed away, return and build up the temple of the Most High where we formally laid the corner stone.
We believe in these promises as much as we believe in any promise ever uttered by the mouth of Jehovah. The Latter-day Saints just as much expect to receive a fulfillment of that promise during the generation that was in existence in 1832 as they expect that the sun will rise and set tomorrow. Why? Because God cannot lie. He will fulfill all his promises. He has spoken, it must come to pass. This is our faith."
Journal of Discourses, Vol. 13, p. 362.

I must warn you sir, that the end times are coming very soon. The time is at hand and today is the day of Salvation. Please do not follow after a false prophet any more. He will lead you to hell which is where he is today. Burning in an eternal fire of punishment with no hope of relief. You must turn away now! Your only hope is Jesus Christ, the TRUE Jesus Christ of the Bible. God Himself! Put your faith and trust in Him ALONE and repent of your sins and you will be saved. What are you saved from?

THE VERY WRATH OF GOD!
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER SHALL BELIEVE IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

Just remember this, even the devil believes and he trembles. You need to tremble too as judgment is right around the corner for you and all mormons, jehovah witnesses and all others in cults. If you call me a liar, prove it. I have proven my point and I pray your eyes have been opened to the truth of God's Word. YOU WILL NOT BECOME A GOD YOURSELF. IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU IT IS ALL ABOUT GOD, WE WERE CREATED FOR HIS GOOD PLEASURE AND TO GLORIFY HIM.

pastorbrianculver said...

Forgot to mention this last piece.

you said, "he has done more to save mankind other than jesus Christ himself"

Here is what JS said, I have more to boast of than any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such work as I (History of the Church, Vol.6, pp. 408-09).

Now this cannot be taken in the same manner as the Apostle Paul, because you MUST take it along with everything else that Joseph Smith taught. He taught that HE held the keys to the kingdom of heaven. They taught that they were going to become gods themselves, Paul NEVER said that and neither did God's Word as a whole.

I too am an exmormon and can say that all of these facts about what they believe are true. What I don't get is why they don't admit it. I mean come on. At least admit that when you're endowed you get special garments to wear. How can you not know that?

Pastor Brian,
I get that you are trying to save these people and that's awesome! But you're going about it the wrong way. Putting them down and speaking to them in all caps... It's kinda scary and well... If I were still Mormon I wouldn't be like "oh yeah! I totally wanna listen to this guy!" actually it would probably make me angry and not want to listen. You gotta do it with love cause that's what it's all about.... Please don't yell at me.

Mormons,
Jesus loves you and he died for you. I know you think you already know that, but I don't think you understand what it means. You don't have to get married in the temple at a young age. You don't have to be a part of secret "sacred" edowment ceremonies. You just gotta except Jesus as your lord and savior. The true Jesus. I challange you to reread you're bible with an open heart and
Mind. I will be praying for you. And you know what? You can pray for me to. God will make what's supposed to happen happen. He will hear our prayers. Let's both promise this. I won't pray for you not to be Mormon and you don't pray for me to become Mormon. Let's both pray that God helps us find and follow the right path. God bless.

pastorbrianculver said...

Isn't it amazing? All of those bible bashing Mormons have stopped commenting after I posted all of the above evidence on their beloved prophet (false prophet!). I do not hate Mormons, I have some very good friends who are Mormons and I pray that their eyes be opened to the truth of God's Holy Word found in the bible and not in the BOM. You cannot worship just anyone who claims to be Jesus. IT MUST BE JESUS OF THE BIBLE AND NO OTHER BOOK! As for writing in all caps, this is not yelling, it is used as a way of bringing attention to this particular part of writing. The people who have commented on here have done so without an objective eye to truth. They are here to promote their false teachings and I WILL NOT DO THAT. If that offends people, then deal with it. I WILL STAND UP FOR GOD'S WORD EVERY TIME WITHOUT COMPROMISE. I LOVE MY MORMON FRIENDS BUT WILL NOT CODDLE THEM TO MAKE THEM FEEL "GOOD" ABOUT THEIR RELIGION BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT THEM TO GO TO HELL.

pastorbrianculver said...

I am not trying to knock down what the last anonymous commentator said, that person is speaking in love and I appreciate that. But to say that you will not pray that they leave mormonism then you might as well say, I HATE YOU MORMONS! I WANT YOU TO GO TO HELL. No, it is better to tell the truth without sugar-coating the message. The truth hurts sometimes but it is better than them falling off a cliff and dying in their sins. Friendship evangelism does not work. Our friendship should ultimately be with the Lord. Please HIM first. God hates sin. Agreed? Please don't say he loves the sinner because that is so far removed from the truth. Yes, we are all sinners and he does love the repentant sinner, but His wrath is poured out on all of the workers of iniquity as they will all head to hell. Those who make provisions to sin. Those who reject the TRUE JESUS of the Bible will be rejected by God. We are not to go against God's Word. Do you love the things God loves? Do you hate the things God hates? When pleasing God comes first instead of pleasing man, then and only then can we get our priorities straight!

Anonymous said...

Obviously we do not agree on some things and that's fine. I think that if you ask God to bring them to the right path, he will. Thats not the same as saying I HATE YOU MORMONS! I WANT YOU TO GO TO HELL. It's actuallly the opposite. I just want them to know that I care which I know you say you are trying to do, but you're people are getting a different message. And as for the all caps, it can easily be mistaken for yelling. And I believe I asked you not to yell at me. Just sayin. As for this conversation I'll admit. I never get into arguments or debates because well I'm simply not intelligent enough to even get close to proving my point. But that's ok. God loves me anyway. Because God loves. He loves EVERYONE. Yes. I'm One of those people. You probably hate me too. And just so you know by saying that you hate the things God hates and that God hates sinners and that Mormons are sinners you have contradicted yourself. Brian hates all that God hates. God hates sinners. Mormons = sinners. Brian hates Mormons. Didn't you just say that you don't hate Mormons? Now go ahead. Make me feel bad about myself and tell me I'm going to he'll because that's all you've been doing to everyone. And I would say that that wouldnt be showing Gods love, but apparently you don't believe in Gods love anyways. So this is just wasting my time. I'm praying for you too. I hope you find the right path.

pastorbrianculver said...

Priority 1 LOVE GOD
Priority 2 Worship God
Priority 3 Honor God
Priority 4 Glorify God

are you getting the idea here? When we "worry" about what people will think when we talk to them, we worry more about what "man" thinks than what GOD thinks. In all we do in word and deed, do it ALL as unto the Lord.

pastorbrianculver said...

to the anonymous poster, you say that I am telling everyone else they are going to hell. in fact, here is what you said, "Now go ahead. Make me feel bad about myself and tell me I'm going to he'll because that's all you've been doing to everyone. And I would say that that wouldnt be showing Gods love, but apparently you don't believe in Gods love anyways"

If you knew just how much I believe in God's love, it would shame you. His love is unexplainable. How can He love such wretched people as we are? Yes, we all sin. But we MUST correct people who are calling themselves Christians and yet deny His true nature. We CANNOT just be loving to them as if it is okay for them to act the way they do. If they did not call themselves Christians, then I would have no problem, but when they take the name of Jesus and call Him Lucifer's brother, you better believe I take exception to that. The modern church will fail big time when the rapture happens. Many people who sit in today's churches will still be here after the Rapture. There are so many false converts in our churches today, the minute persecution hits the american christian, most of them will fall away from the faith. That is why a person MUST know WHY Jesus died for him. They MUST know that there is nothing in and of themselves that will save them. Only the shed blood of Jesus Christ will save them. When a person has a true faith in Jesus he will repent of his sins. For without repentance, there is no salvation. I have found the right path, it is a narrow path that leads to life. Ever wonder why so few people talk about sin and the need to repent? Because the broad way is more acceptable to the world. Our churches MUST return to being biblical and not be worried about being some wishy washy kind of church that accepts ALL people into the congregation regardless of what they believe and how they live their lives.
A mormon says, "I am a Christian!" what they are really saying is "I believe God is from the planet Kolob. I will become a god some day. Jesus is the brother of the devil..." And many professing christians have no problem with the way Jesus has been torn down to the idea of a man.

I would like proof of the bible being an account from an actual god. You claims that one religion is false while your own has no solid evidence.

pastorbrianculver said...

Miss Lee, first off I would like to thank you for posting your comment on here. Providing "proof" to a lost person who does not know God is difficult here but not necessarily impossible.

To make a claim that my own religion has no solid evidence is nothing more than ignorance to the Holy Word of God. How can you make a claim without having first, read the bible? If you are making this claim going by what others have told you, then you are making a grave mistake that has eternal consequences.

Archeology on a daily basis is constantly proving what the bible says. At no time has archeology EVER been able to disprove ANYTHING in the bible.

Science has tried to disprove the bible and has been unsuccessful at that too.

The bible is full of prophecies dating back some 4000 years ago and every one of them have come true EXACTLY as the bible said it would happen.

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of so many prophecies that you would have a better chance of being hit by lightning than fulfilling all of these prophecies. And yet, He did fulfill them to the finest of details.

The next great prophecy to come is the Rapture of the church. When that happens, and it will happen, you will know that God's Word is true. We are living in the Last Days right now. Jesus could come to take His people to heaven with him at any time.

Where will you go when you die? How do you know you are right? Are you willing to go to hell if you are wrong? Hell is a lake of burning fire that never quenches or ceases. It is utter pain and agnony for all eternity.

Why did God create a Hell? It is punishment (for all eternity) to those who refuse to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. When you die, you will either face Jesus as Savior (in which case you will go to heaven) or you will face Him as Judge (in which case you will go to Hell).

Now by commenting on this blog, you have interjected yourself into a conversation in which you know nothing of either parties arguments.

Mormons and Christians both believe in the bible. But here is the difference.

Mormons have created other books that hold equal value in their eyes if not more so. Christians only need the bible which is God's Holy inspired book.

Mormons believe that Jesus is a literal brother to Lucifer (Satan), Christians know that Jesus is GOD and is not a brother of Satan. Jesus CREATED all things, Lucifer is a created being (a now fallen angel).

Since both use the bible it is impossible for both to be right. This post on my blog was exposing many of the false teachings of mormonism.

Here is my suggestion for you. Before condemning someone, find out exactly what the bible says about who God is and what His nature is. READ THE BIBLE -- KJV BIBLE which is not corrupted. All of the other versions are corrupt such as the NIV, ESV, NASB, NKJV etc.

If you try to disprove the bible you will come up short. You will see that everything the bible says is TRUE. After reading the bible, then come back and join in the conversation. If you have an honest question about the bible and how to be saved, please write to me and I will answer you. But if you are only trying to be an annoying little flea that has no intention of searching God's Word yourself, then stay away, I will not waste my time on a person who mocks God.

Jerry Pogi said...

hmm... Not sure if I agree with your statement of other versions of the bible being corrupt. While there are versions of the bible that are, dont get me wrong, just as an example NKJV is just a modern version of KJV without the "Ye's and the "thou's" and the "thines" et. al...

Also, I dont think scaring the hell (pun intended) out of people will get them out of their religion. Believe me, my wife is LDS. I dont plan on scaring her to death about eternal fire and brimstone. I would like her to see my life and how God has blessed me... "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds, and praise your Father in heaven" (Matt. 5:16)

I do understand your noble intentions of getting LDS members to see through the false teachings of their faith. But teach them in love, just as Jesus Himself, is Love, and commanded that we love others as we love him. Please understand that some of them have held on to their beliefs for so long they can get stubborn even if the truth is in plain sight. The only way to win their souls is for them to see His love in your life emanate. If they are stubborn please dont condemn them saying that they will go to hell. While they are alive, there is always hope for them.

God bless you Pastor

pastorbrianculver said...

Jerri, I appreciate your concerns but let me make a few statements here.

you said, "hmm... Not sure if I agree with your statement of other versions of the bible being corrupt. While there are versions of the bible that are, dont get me wrong, just as an example NKJV is just a modern version of KJV without the "Ye's and the "thou's" and the "thines" et. al...
"
Now let's look at what God's Word says...
IN THE "NEW KJV," THERE ARE

22 omissions of "hell",
23 omissions of "blood",
44 omissions of "repent",
50 omissions of "heaven",
51 omissions of "God",
66 omissions of "Lord".

The term "JEHOVAH" is completely omitted.
The NKJV makes a very serious doctrinal error when dealing with the word "JEHOVAH" in Exodus 6:3. They change the word "JEHOVAH" to "LORD" thus making the Bible to contradict itself. Even the corrupt "New World Translation" (Jehovah's Witnesses Bible) has a better rendering of this passage.

So what does Exodus 6:3 say? Please read carefully - "And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them." (KJV)

Now please note what the NKJV says - "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, LORD, I was not known to them." (NKJV)

If you will take a concordance and go back to Genesis 1 and go through to Exodus 6:3 you will notice that the word "LORD" is mentioned 242 times.

pastorbrianculver said...

Did anyone before Exodus know God by the name of "LORD" before Exodus 6:3. The answer is a resounding, YES! Don't just sit there, look it up for yourself.

Adam & Eve knew - Genesis 4:1
Enos knew - Genesis 4: 26
Noah knew - Genesis 8: 20
Shem knew - Genesis 9:26
Nimrod knew - Genesis 10:9
Abraham knew - Genesis 12:7-8
King of Sodom knew - Genesis 14:22
Sarah knew - Genesis 16:2; 18:14
Hagar knew - Genesis 16:11
Lot knew - Genesis 19:14
Abimelech knew - Genesis 20:4
Eliezor knew - Genesis 24:3-12
Rebekah knew - Genesis 24:18
Laban and Bethuel knew - Genesis 24:50
Isaac knew - Genesis 25:21
Abimelech, Ahuzzath, & Phichol knew - Genesis 26:28
Jacob knew - Genesis 27:20
Leah knew - Genesis 29:32
Rachel knew - Genesis 30:24
Laban knew - Genesis 30:27
Joseph knew - Genesis 39:2-3
Pharaoh knew - Exodus 3:18
Moses & Aaron knew - Exodus 5:1

So to eliminate the word "JEHOVAH" is not only poor scholarship but also perverts and damages the text making it contradictory. It is a key passage that shows God as He reveals Himself BY ANOTHER NAME to mankind. Someone on the translation committee evidently does not like the name, "JEHOVAH."

The term "NEW TESTAMENT", is completely omitted.

It is interesting to note that Hebrews 9:15-20 in the NKJV lines up with the New World Translation (Jehovah's Witnesses Bible).

DOCTRINAL PROBLEMS
DEALING WITH SALVATION

The NKJV confuses people about salvation. In Hebrews 10:14 it replaces "are sanctified" with "ARE BEING SANCTIFIED", and it replaces "are saved" with "ARE BEING SAVED."

In I Corinthians 1:18 and II Corinthians 2:15. The words "may believe" have been replaced with "MAY CONTINUE TO BELIEVE" in I John 5:13.

The old straight and "narrow" way of Matthew 7:14 has become the "DIFFICULT" way in the NKJV.

In II Corinthians 10:5 the KJV reads "casting down imaginations", but the NKJV reads "CASTING DOWN ARGUMENTS". The word "thought", which occurs later in the verse, matches "imaginations", not "arguments". This change weakens the verse.

The KJV tells us to reject a "heretick" after the second admonition in Titus 3:10. The NKJV tells us to reject a " DIVISIVE MAN". How nice! Now the Alexandrians and Ecumenicals have justification for rejecting anyone they wish to label as "divisive men".

According to the NKJV, no one would stoop so low as to "corrupt" God's word. No, they just "PEDDLE" it (II Cor. 2:17). The reading matches the Alexandrian versions.

The KJV correctly says, "For we are not as many, which corrupt the Word of God .... "But the NKJV, NASV, NIV and RSV, change "corrupt" to "peddling." Is there any great difference between peddling (selling, or making a gain of) the Word of God and corrupting (adulterating) it? Of course there is, and one does not have to be a Greek scholar to decide which word is correct. When this warning was given in the 1st Century, was there any way for people to peddle (make a gain of) God's Word? Of course not -- they were suffering for it. The warning clearly refers to corrupting God's Word, something that was common then as it is now. Only in our day has it ever been possible to peddle (make a gain of) the Bible. With its huge profits from the sale of many different Bible versions, the Thomas Nelson Publishers is both corrupting and peddling God's Word.

pastorbrianculver said...

The NKJV gives us no command to "study" God's word in II Timothy 2:15.

2 TIMOTHY 2:15

KJV reads, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God." NKJV and NASV change "study" to "be diligent." NIV and RSV change "study" to "DO YOUR BEST."

MATTHEW 7:14

KJV - "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life..."

NKJV - "Because narrow is the gate and DIFFICULT is the way which leads to life,"

Is the way unto eternal life difficult? No, that is false teaching. The way unto eternal life is "strait," as the KJV says, meaning "constricted, restricted, distressed, narrow, restrained."

MATTHEW 20:20

KJV - "Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him..."

NKJV - "Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, KNEELING DOWN..."

This is a wicked change. To kneel is obviously not the same as worship. "Worship" was in Tyndale's translation of 1526. It was in the Matthew's Bible of 1537. It was the Geneva of 1537. It was in the Authorized Version of 1611. Even the English Revised version of 1881 and the American Standard Version of 1901 retained the word "worship." It was the modernistic Revised Standard Version of 1952 which changed to "kneeling." Now the NKJV editors follow this same wicked error.

1 CORINTHIANS 1:18

KJV - "... but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

NKJV - "... but to us who are BEING SAVED it is the power of God..."

This unnecessary change corrupts the doctrine of salvation and conforms to the heretics who teach that salvation is a process.

ACTS 8:9

KJV reads, "bewitched the people." NKJV and NASV change "bewitched" to "ASTONISHED." NIV and RSV change "bewitched" to "amazed."

COLOSSIANS 3:2

KJV reads, "Set your affection on things above." NKJV, NASV, NIV and RSV change "affection" to "MIND."

HEBREWS 3:16

KJV - "For some, when they had heard did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses."

NKJV - "For who having heard rebelled? Indeed, WAS IT NOT ALL who came out of Egypt led by Moses?"

The NKJV make this verse to say something directly contrary to the KJV and to the Old Testament. The Bible plainly says that not all of the Israelites rebelled against God, but the NKJV creates a contradiction.

The NKJV also lines up with the (NWT) Jehovah's Witness Perversion in dealing with the above.

pastorbrianculver said...

HEBREWS 10:14

KJV - "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified."

NKJV - "For by one offering He has perfected forever, those WHO ARE BEING sanctified."

This unnecessary change in the NKJV conforms to heretical gospels, such as that taught by Rome, which claim that salvation is a sacramental process. The NKJV completely destroys the beauty and power of this verse, that through the once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ the believer is perfected and sanctified forever. This verse properly translated, as in the KJV, defeats false views of salvation. The NKJV, on the other hand, creates confusion. If Christ's offering gives eternal perfection, as the first half of the verse claims, why does the rest of the verse say that we are BEING saved? It is confusion and error.

And we know that God is not the Author of confusion. (1 Cor. 14:33)

ISAIAH 11:3

The entire phrase, "And shall make Him of quick understanding" in the KJV is eliminated in the NKJV, NWT, NASV, NIV and RSV.

ISAIAH 66:5

The wonderful phrase, "But He shall appear to your joy" in the KJV disappears without explanation from NKJV, NASV, NIV and RSV.

DANIEL 3:25

The fourth person who was in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, was identified as "the Son of God." The same identification is given in the text of the NKJV but a footnote reads "or, a son of the gods," and both NIV and NASV actually have the latter reading in their texts.

In four different places in 1 and 2 Kings, "sodomites" is changed to "perverted persons." The NKJV does not deserve its respected name. It is a perverted version.

" Believe me, my wife is LDS. I dont plan on scaring her to death about eternal fire and brimstone."

If your wife died in a fiery car crash today - the very place you do not want her to know about is the very place she will be! As a husband it is your (ours) responsibility to ensure that our families KNOW God. And that means teaching them about the TOTALITY of CHRIST. He is 100% love and 100% wrath. He loves those who are His and he hates workers of iniquity and will cast them down to hell. Your wife is believing in a false Christ (one that is a brother to Lucifer). This is no small thing. This is offensive to God. While you want to wait for her to see your good works, I guarantee that she is waiting for "you" to see her good works so as to bring you into her religion. At some point in time, you must give her God's True Word. You are to be as a watchmen (Ezekiel 33). You must sound the trumpet to warn her of the danger ahead. If you don't and she dies in her sin, her blood will be upon your head. (this is scriptural). Please pray about this.

Next you said...
"The only way to win their souls is for them to see His love in your life emanate. "

I am sure you did not mean this statement. The ONLY way to win their souls is to have God draw them to himself. The Holy Spirit must draw them to Him. OUR responsibility is to give them God's Holy Word with no corruption and no deception. Romans 10:18 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." You are only wanting her to see but she is blind to the truth. She needs to hear God's Word.

and finally you said this...
" If they are stubborn please dont condemn them saying that they will go to hell. "

Sir, they are condemned already! You know John 3:16 but read just two verses after that.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

A Mormon believes that we can all become gods of our own planets and that Jesus is just one of many gods. They MUST believe in the only "begotten" (which means unique, purely one and only) Son of God. In their faith, they believe in many gods, just one for this particular planet. Your wife is headed for hell. It might sound like condemnation from me but it is not. It is condemnation from God himself and it is found in His Holy Word.

I will be praying for you because it is important that your wife have her eyes and ears opened. The Pharisees were blind to the truth of who Jesus was and they died in their sins and went to hell. Do you really want to wait and take a chance that your wife won't die before finally seeing Jesus in you? If Jesus were truly living within you, then you would be doing what Jesus did. PROCLAIM HIS NAME AND HIS GOSPEL MESSAGE. PUT YOUR FAITH AND TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST ALONE AND REPENT OF YOUR SINS FOR THERE IS NO SALVATION WITHOUT REPENTANCE. Your wife MUST repent and put her faith in the only one who can save her. She must know who the REAL Jesus is. Tell her today without delay. Her salvation depends on it!

God bless
Brian

which, do you think, are the very best bible verses to have mormons read? or to share so that others, who dont know the difference in religions/denominations, can see that they are false, or at the very least different from christ-followers, not as they are claiming? (possibly comparing a mormon verse to a bible verse)

im asking because a lady was asking about a local church to attend on a thread, and another lady suggested the asker to check out her lds-christian church. i posted (gently) that christians and lds arent the same thing, saying faith was enough with romans 5:1-2 and john 3:16 kjv, and it got a little ugly (the lds privy to the thread, not me). i know theyve been calling themselves christian for the last couple decades so its entirely possible the newer mormons dont realize christ-followers are different than self-proclaimed 'im not anything else so im a christian' (falsely claimed), which are still different than lds (also falsely claimed). i didnt want to be an ugly christian on that thread and turn off anyone that would otherwise be interested, so i sent the main decrier a private message (below), but she told me that i wasnt a good christian and to not contact her again. i would like to send her a verse that she would really ponder as a last contact, so i want it to really speak about the subject, but ive never been mormon (only raised by an ex-mormon). if this conversation were to happen again, do you think i could have done better in speaking to the lds so that they might consider my words? i want to plants seeds, because i know our father wants to reach them.

my original post: "in case anyone was wondering, mormonism (lds) and christianity differ on some fundamental beliefs and are not the same thing: faith is enough.
"Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." Romans 5:1-2 KJV
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 KJV"

her reply in the thread to my verses: You are very mistaken Lauren about Mormons! Considering that our Church is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We believe that Christ was born to Mary & Joseph on this Earth, that His life perfectly, that He died & was resurrected. Where our beliefs differ with other Christians is we believe that God, Christ & The Holy Ghost are three separate beings. Christian means you believe in Christ, nothing else so yes Mormon are Christians."

Unknown said...

my private message: "not sure if you want to talk to me about it, but if mormons are christians, why do they try to convert christians to mormonism?

we do not have the same christ. my christ was there in the beginning, with god the father, and the holy spirit. they were there before the earth was made or matter existed, and there are no other gods on other worlds. my god was never a man that became a god: father, son and holy spirit have always existed, and have always been god. my christ is not the brother of luficer/satan, but was there with god and created that angel.

i can never ever be good enough to go to heaven, or even to look at god, without salvation, which is through jesus alone. and the only way to get that grace from god that allows me to be welcomed is believing that jesus christ, only son of god, perfect and blameless, died in my place and paid for all my sins and deficiencies.

being christian doesnt mean belief in christ. even the devil believes in god, and god and jesus are one. being christian means being a christ-follower.

would you like bible verses?"

she replied in the thread (visible to everyone in the group): "I was private messaged by Lauren- this evening & I will not be responding to your message because I do not think you wrote that message with a Christ- like spirit. First I want you to know that most of what you said Christians believe is what "Mormon" also believe. There is a few key fundamentals & principles that differ but that is makes each religion different from the next & special. I will not entertain your "Mormons" are Christian comments anymore so don't message me again please. I hope that you can learn to love & accept others because Christ loved everyone & also if you want to get your facts about us(Latter Day Saints) completely right & then make you judgement which is really left up to Christ to judge, I ask you to talk to the missionaries, sit with them & pick their brains! I think you would be pleasantly surprised!"

i know anyone that calls themselves a christian is putting themselves under the standard of the bible, to be judged by it. 1 Cor 5:11–13

I do not believe in the Trinity. Jesus always refered to God as "My Father" or "He who has sent me". How do you explain the singelarity used when Jesus references God. There is always a separation of Jesus from himself when he refers to God. The word trinity is not even found in the Bible. Jesus was not God but the son......as HE so said.....Wayne Newson

"Jesus always referred to God as 'My Father' or 'He who has sent me.'"

This doesn't disprove the trinity. The trinity is one God, three distinct persons. What this shows is that Jesus is not the Father and the Father is not Jesus. But they are both God. I'm currently memorizing Hebrews... In order to deny the trinity, you must rip out this entire book, not to mention the book of John among others. But let's take this one step at a time. I'm doing this all from memory right now, so forgive me if I make errors... I am going to capitalize for emphasis:

"Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, THROUGH WHOM ALSO HE CREATED THE WORLD. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the EXACT IMPRINT OF HIS NATURE, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say, 'You are my Son, today I have begotten you'? Or again, 'I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son'? And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, 'Let all God's angels WORSHIP HIM.'"

First we see that God the Father created the world through Jesus the Son (which we also learn in John 1), then we learn that Jesus the Son is the "exact imprint of His nature." Who alone has God's exact nature but God? It would be blasphemous to say that Jesus was "the exact imprint of His nature" if indeed He was not God, let along suggest that God the Father's angels should worship Him. Now pay attention closely to the next few verses:

"Of the angels he says, 'He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.' BUT OF THE SON HE SAYS, 'YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions."

Again, this says, "OF THE SON he says... Your throne, O GOD, is forever and ever." The author of Hebrews directly says that Psalm 45:6,7 referring to God in the Old Testament is referring to Christ.

And, "YOU, LORD, LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH IN THE BEGINNING, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORK OF YOUR HANDS; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. BUT YOU ARE THE SAME, AND YOUR YEARS WILL HAVE NO END."

The author of Hebrews also says that Christ laid the foundation of the earth IN THE BEGINNING... "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." So, which is wrong, then? Is Genesis wrong in saying God created the heavens and the earth? Or is Hebrews wrong for saying Jesus created the heavens and the earth?

Now let's cross-reference with John: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:1-3). The one who was in the beginning "with" God was also the one who the world was created through, which we learned in the Hebrews passage was the Son, the Word. And also in the Hebrews passage, the author quotes Psalm 102:25-27 by stating that it was the Lord who laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning. Who was "in the beginning" creating the world other than God?

This is just one section. I can give you several more that show clearly that Jesus is God. In fact, in the gospels, that is exactly what He was claiming to be, contrary to what you said. Why is it when he said the Greek equivalent to "I AM" that was stated to Moses in Exodus 3:14 the Pharisees and Sadducees said it was blasphemy? Because He was equating Himself with God, so if you believe Jesus was not God, you are saying that you agree that they should've crucified Him because that was the charge, and according to the law, that is how blasphemy was to be punished.

I must say that this is one of the dumbest fights i have ever heard. Pastor Brian Culver u have been posting on this thread or feed or whatever u may like to call it for a long time. i would only like to say the Joseph Smith had little schooling and most of it would have been done in his own home. so how would he be able to progress in the language of the Book of Mormon? A young man like him with little education would have never been able to write a book over five hundred pages with the correct wording and grammar for the time period and vocabulary that a young man like him would have learned. So i now ask you how he was able to write a book like that with only a small and early education like he would have had. It just isn't possible for him to do. so please do not try to berate Latter Day Saints for their believings and teachings that they have.

so to follow a child and his "abilities" to write things that no child would know about is a reason to follow and believe him? Of course you do know that some 478 verses in the Book of Mormon are an exact copy taken from the
Book of Isaiah in the KJV Bible! and regardless of what you think, the devil used Joseph Smith to create a false doctrine and a false Jesus. The Jesus found in your book, (smith's book) is NOT THE SAME JESUS FOUND IN THE BIBLE. your jesus is a literal brother of Lucifer. The biblical Jesus is God, always has been and always will be. He did not "become" a god, he has ALWAYS BEEN GOD. And as far as your claim of correct wording and grammar, it was and has been changed over the years. Mistakes were made in his original writings. God would never have allowed that. I pray you come to know the real God of the bible. I pray you put aside the idea of man becoming a god himself

We are living in the End Times. The apostles were bold for their faith. They died proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Friendship evangelism does not work and is not biblical. Mormons send comments with vulgar language. Without repentance they will go to hell. Let alone going to hell for following a false prophet.
