The Church of Oprah is growing (post one of three)

Still don't think it is dangerous in following a person as opposed to following God? There is only one way to heaven and that is through the Son, Jesus Christ. It takes a faith and trust in Him alone for salvation. It takes repentance and obedience to His Word as a sign of our love for Him. Who are you following?

It's a scary thought that millions of women follow Oprah. One sad fact about Oprah is that she still claims Christianity as her religion.

and so do Mormons, JW's, and after listening to so many emergent leaders like Pagitt, it is scary to see how so many people are being deceived by a gospel that is not true Christianity.

Like Dr. MacArthur put it, it's the "church of the tares".

good point Mike! it seems that all of the mention of false converts is completely ignored by many people who are living in the world! The wheat and the tares is a perfect example! The parables of Jesus gives us insight that many people choose to ignore. But then again, He tells us that not all people will understand the parables. The lost do not have understanding.

speaking_as,
I would agree with your comments but not the part about the woman or blacks. I am not so sure she will have the kind of influence that she "thinks" she has. I have no problem with a woman running for office so long as it isn't Hillary. I have no problem with an African American running for office either, so long as it isn't Obama. It has nothing to do with their sex or the color of their skin. It has everything to do with what they believe, what they want to do for the country. I do not support abortion, they do.

You are right that it is sickening when a person professes to be a Christian and then holds onto beliefs that are so very contrary to the Word of God. They do great damage in misleading people.

I'm going to edit my first post, since I'm sure it will spring cries of "sexist" and "racist" from people.

These people running for office are untraditional Brian, that's my problem with it. There are somethings a president should be. And the influence I was speaking of is related to the fact that Oprah will get her legions of followers to vote for which ever one gets nominated because "Hell"ary is a woman and Osama Obama is black. Regardless of their qualifications (they have NONE!)

I will be voting for Senator McCain (and I trust you will too.) He's not my ideal choice for president, however he's better than either of those two liberal slimeballs.

The damage she could do is enormous. A lot of people who follow her believe they are following true Christianity! The path she is leading them down is one to hell. If only she could have Kirk Cameron as a guest and give him an open platform. I won't be holding MY breath though.
