Why are you a Christian? Why are you an Atheist? Why are you so sure about who you claim to be?

I am in the middle of writing an article on the above statements. If you would like to contribute your two cents worth, please feel free to write to me. With my busy schedule (getting married tomorrow- Sat, Sept 27th!), I will add your comments as time allows.

I thank you again for your patience and your prayers, it is very much appreciated!

till His nets are full
God bless

Ok - Here goes......

Why am I a Christian?

On October 29th 1994, God drew me to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicted me of my sins and showed me that I was wretch of a sinner. I cried out to God and repented of my sins. I put my trust and faith into Jesus to save me from God's wrath on the Day of Judgment.

Why am I so sure about who I claim to be?

Because I knew who I was before God started saving me....When God started saving me, he began to change me. Some things changed right away......some things have taken years to change and some things He is still working on.

What is my gauge on how He is working on me? I continue to grow and mature as one of His.

He has given me a deep desire to study His word, to reach the lost and grow in holiness.

I am a work in progress that will be completed when I pass from this life to the next.....then, and only then, will I be completely saved.

I was 11 yo. My dad is a Christian (now in heaven), mother was not. He took me to a rescue mission for their fall special meetings.

The preacher was M. R. Dehann, MD of the Radio Bible Class. I can't remember anything he said now, but I knew--was convicted--that I was a sinner, God is holy, and God punishes sin. I asked God to forgive me and be my Lord (my boss).

People around me--parents and other relatives--told me I was different. Things that were important to me before, were no longer so important.

I wanted to read the Bible.

I wanted to pray.

I wanted to do what the Bible said was right and not do what the Bible said was wrong.

Praise God for your marriage. May you treat each other the way the Bible teaches us.
