The title of my blog is Time 2 Change Churches. It is about bringing our churches "back" to biblical preaching and teaching. It is about seeing our church from a biblical perspective. Is your church teaching obedience to God's Word? Holiness? Reverence? Righteousness? Are you taught that it is necessary to be born-again? Where does repentance fit in with your walk with Christ? Do you evangelize? Or is your church just teaching you a new joke or two each week? PLEASE PASS THIS BLOG ON!

Is this a church or is it a concert tour ?
ReplyDeleteI think that would/will make a difference on how I act/respond
unfortunately Jeff, this is a church! to sing a song title, "Mess us up O God" is so far removed from being biblical that it falls more appropriately under satanic worship. We are already messed up. The prayer should be to God to straighten us up O God! Help us to be righteous O God. Why in the world would people jump around singing for God to mess them up? Too many people will go along for the ride without properly discerning what God's Word actually says.
ReplyDeleteThe reason that I asked was the following:

He, is band, whatever it is considered is travelling the SE. Thus, I thought (think) that this is their concert tour and a concert tour and a church service are two different issue (to me).
Jeff, we have discussed many things in the past and I am sure you can guess where I am taking this.
ReplyDeleteWhether it is in a church or on a tour (which by the way, you will notice most of his tours are in churches or church ministries!), it really does not matter. If this man is proclaiming himself to be a Christian, I have to wonder about whether his songs truly display God in His proper character. We, as Christians, should always be the same whether we are in church or out of it. If we are singing songs about God, it should be with reverence, praise and worshipful. The wordings of the songs should be in line with Scripture and not contrary to it. To me, it appears to be a church because it looks like the first man speaking was a pastor (a very unbiblical pastor at that!).
Do you ever notice how people do not fear the Lord in the way they act and in the way they speak?
Real Christians should have been walking out of that joint in droves....how sad.
ReplyDeleteHi wayne! did you see where Bill Hybels is upset because most of his church does not believe we are saved by grace? and that most of them believe that Jesus is NOT the only way to heaven? it all comes down to what is being taught from behind the pulpit. He is to blame for his own problems in the church!
ReplyDeletethe entertainment church continues to thrive in america. Boxing, wrestling, rock and roll all taking place in churches in this country. Where is the holiness?
