The title of my blog is Time 2 Change Churches. It is about bringing our churches "back" to biblical preaching and teaching. It is about seeing our church from a biblical perspective. Is your church teaching obedience to God's Word? Holiness? Reverence? Righteousness? Are you taught that it is necessary to be born-again? Where does repentance fit in with your walk with Christ? Do you evangelize? Or is your church just teaching you a new joke or two each week?
PLEASE PASS THIS BLOG ON!
Expelled is exactly how I am feeling at this moment in time. The sad thing is that the 'school' I have just come back from was a training session of those newly qualified to full time ministry in the Church of England. The language from the leader (A Priest) was disgraceful and the sexual innuendo worse. I feel I should have complained and walked out and perhaps I let God down by not doing so. I realise that I do have to 'Go' and tell my brother his fault and I will, but I don't expect any support in this.
Sorry for getting this off my chest on your blog Brian - just needed to come to a place where I know I will receive some support.
you have my support neil. It's sad that people who should be showing themselves to be christians are hurting themselves and others. The language is something that needs to be addressed. I wonder how that person handles Scripture that says, Every idle word a man speaks he will have to give an account of? If he has sexual comments it shows the filth in his heart. he is not a new person. That stuff should have been gone when he because a born-again believer. My prayers are with you on this one. Stand up for the faith and be bold as a lion with the love of Christ.
It's not showing in the town that I live in (but it's a really small town), but they're showing it in Clarksville (a larger town in TN about an hour drive from me). It seems to be showing in most larger cities.
It's showing at a theater about 45 minutes/an hour away from here depending on how heavy traffic is. I'm going to try and catch in Tuesday afternoon since I have it off. I'll let you know what I think.
BTW, if anyone here is a fan of kung fu movies, Forbidden Kingdom is awesome! I saw it last night with my girlfriend. We were going to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but it was sold out, and so I dragged her to it (my original pick.) She doesn't like kung fu movies and she loved it! So I'd recommend it if you like those types of films.
We used the movie as a backsplash for our class last Sunday on apologetics.
ReplyDeleteHowever, we only watched the trailer and some clips from the movie and read the background on how the film came together.
Our local theaters are not showing it; the closest one is 45 mins. away.
So, we did not get to see it.
not yet, but I want to see it...
ReplyDeleteis this movie not going to get complete national coverage in the movie theaters?
ReplyDeleteIt was a limited released movie - 1,052 theaters. If there was great success, then it was going to be opened up more.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I heard, the numbers(tickets sold) were not enough for them to warrent them to release it everywhere.
