Alabama Judge and the Ten Commandments

AlabamaJudge
Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall. Please read the poem he wrote. It's below his picture.

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama! The judge's poem sums it up quite well.

America the beautiful,or so you used to be.

Land of the Pilgrims' pride;I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,Abortion on demand,

Oh, sweet land of liberty;your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine

choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain

From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away

From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray

We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown.

When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core,

Appointing Godless Judges; who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb,

But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum?

How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide?

What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray;

Seek His holy face and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven; and forgive us of our sins,

He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful, If you don't - then you will see,

A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee.

~~Judge Roy Moore~~

Alabama Judge Roy Moore was removed from his bench for standing up for the Ten Commandments. Isn't it a shame that more churches don't stand up for God's Word like that? Isn't it a shame that more pastors don't have the guts the boldy proclaim the Word of God in all its glory and all its honor? Isn't it ashame that American Idol took a wonderful Christian song "Shout to the Lord" and removed the name of Jesus from the song AND many Christians have absolutely no problem with that? They think that people will automatically know the song is about Jesus. Click on the link to listen to the show and song and then read the many comments from "christians" who think it is great that Jesus was not mentioned because He will automatically receive the glory. That typifies so many of today's contemporary churches in that they have softened the gospel so much that the people attending those churches have no clue as to just how HOLY God is! God's Word has been perverted so much that many people cannot discern what is true and what isn't. Our churches and our pastors need to get back to preaching the Bible and they need to get back to preaching and teaching the WHOLE Gospel message and not just half of it! The God of Love is also a God of Wrath. Which God will you be facing on your final day? Unless you have repented of your sins and have been obedient to His Word and put your faith and trust in Him alone for your salvation, then you will face the God of Wrath. Please repent of your sins now! Turn and cry out to God to forgive you of your sins. Hate the sins that you do with a righteousness that comes from God. Believe in the Words of Jesus when He says that not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven. Please consider your ways and do not justify your actions for you will not be able to stand before a Holy God and explain away your sins! Here is the new link to the show from last night where they actually did say the name of Jesus!

  1. I went to the link and watched the video and read some of the comments....I'm actually really surprised that AI would use that song (even though they took out Jesus). If I remember correctly, I once read that it's sung by more Christians in church services every week than any other song. Would I prefer that they left the song as written? Of course, but I'm still really surprised that they used it. Unless someone has never heard the song before (which I would imagine is very few people) I would think that anyone who hears it is going to somehow associate it with the church.

I don't think that I would call it a "light in the darkness" as some commentors wrote, but the whole thing is just very perplexing to me...I'm very curious as to who decided that they should use that song....

  2. They must have had enough complaints from Christians, or from the original artist herself about removing the name of Jesus. I see where they sang the song again last night and this time they sang it with the name of Jesus in it!! Praise God. I don't personally watch the show because too many songs have to do with either sex, adultery or drinking. I'm not going to hold my breath that AI has changed their ways.

  4. Brian:

If you're interested, here's a link to the video of them singing it again, this time using "Jesus" instead of "Shepherd."

  6. The man in the picture is NOT ex-judge Roy Moore. I'm not sure who this friendly looking old man is, but his picture was also used in an email that I have seen passed around. A real picture of him can be found in this news story from 2006:

Rather creepy looking if you ask me. Every one of you that supports Roy Moore needs to ask yourself just how far would you go. Would you support a law that makes it illegal to not believe in God? How about a law ordering you to go to Church on Sunday? Why not make all 10 commandments federal law?

If you are willing to say "Yes" to any of these things, then you value your own extreme faith over the freedoms and rights that men and women have died to build and protect. That in and of itself is an act so selfish that it puts all of us in danger. Shame on you.

  7. Yonah,
It is sad to see how much society really does not get the idea of the cross.

you said, "Would you support a law that makes it illegal to not believe in God?"

    my response to this...
whether one believes in God or not is totally dependent on the individual person. A law has no bearing on the matter. Each person will be held accountable for their actions on earth. Heaven and Hell await each person, depending on whether they have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. You can't "make" someone believe in God. All of creation points to a Creator, but not all people "see!"

"How about a law ordering you to go to Church on Sunday?"

Again, this is ridiculous at best. I am not condemning you for making the statement, but it all comes down to each person's personal decision. They will be held accountable.

"Why not make all 10 commandments federal law?"

(I will post the rest of my response to this in a couple of hours. please be patient with me as I am at work!)

  8. here is the rest of my response.

As for the Ten Commandments and whether there should be a law or not using them.

    Murder -- Yes
    Stealing -- Yes
    Adultery -- Yes

Honoring your parents -- every child "should" do this for a "normal" family.

Coveting -- What good can come from this??

Sabbath -- the good that comes from this is the needed rest that we all need.

Blaspheming -- it is amazing how many people will take the Creator's name in vain and would never consider using their mom's name in vain. Or Hitler's name in vain.

Idol Worshipping -- all non-christians worship idols!! money, car, fame, job, you name it!

Worship God and Him alone -- if you want to go to heaven you need to do this!

You also said, "If you are willing to say "Yes" to any of these things, then you value your own extreme faith over the freedoms and rights that men and women have died to build and protect. That in and of itself is an act so selfish that it puts all of us in danger. Shame on you."

"extreme" faith?? Thank you!! I want to take my faith to the extremes!! All the way to the point that we are told to take it! Obedience to His Holy Word!

You have never once lost "your" freedom to not worship God. But at the same time you have never experienced the saving faith that comes from God!

I will pray for you to come to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and that you would be willing to repent of your sins.
