The title of my blog is Time 2 Change Churches. It is about bringing our churches "back" to biblical preaching and teaching. It is about seeing our church from a biblical perspective. Is your church teaching obedience to God's Word? Holiness? Reverence? Righteousness? Are you taught that it is necessary to be born-again? Where does repentance fit in with your walk with Christ? Do you evangelize? Or is your church just teaching you a new joke or two each week? PLEASE PASS THIS BLOG ON!

YS - Youth Specialties --NOOOOOOO!!!!
How many ways can YS continue to mock the very faith they profess to believe in? Back when I was an "unsaved" pastor, I used to receive emails from YS for our youth groups. Now that I am saved, it makes me sick to see the way they parade around as Christians. Is it any wonder that our youth do not have a proper respect and awe for our Lord and Savior.
The following clip is to show what kind of "Christian" YS is desiring to show to the youth of the church. Please use discretion when viewing this. It is "R" rated. I do not support what he says and how he says it. Please send a reply to YS and tell them to change their ways.
Pathetic for a supposed Christian, isn't it. Talk about a false convert!!!!!
I'm confused. Does the comedy central guy claim to be a Christian?
ReplyDeleteIt also looks as if the shot was pieced together- the interview appeared fake. Just my opinion. I don't know what that other thing was (the first video).

To be honest, I am not sure if the Comedy Central guy is a Christian or not. It is not so much about him as it is YS's decision to use him as a favorite video singing a Christian song. Judging by the way he seems to mock the song with his dance, and the language he uses, I would guess he does not claim to be a Christian. Why would Youth Specialties want to display something from someone who is so obviously anti-christian in his behavior? My guess is this. It was funny to look at and it would entertain the kids with a popular person from TV singing a Christian song. I see they also have Bible study programs based on Spiderman 3 and on some other popular shows. They would seem to miss out on the opportunity to teach about obedience to God's Word, Repentance of sin, and God's wonderful gift of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. Just my thoughts on it. Regardless of whether the video clip was "put together" or not, it still shows him as being on the vulgar side. Am I wrong on this?
ReplyDeleteI know nothing of YS and I still don't, I just thought maybe that lady doing the interview was a YS employee. Sorry, I guess I misunderstood. I watched the interview video again and I am starting to think it was not patched together, although it could be done, but it just looks to clean. Anyways, I guess I will now go and look up YS to see what I can learn about them.

The man who is the president of YS has responded on blogs over at team pyro defending himself. He just can't see the harm he does. He even said he apologized a while back because of all the emphasis on play time at youth groups instead of Bible time, but he has not changed his ways. When I first started receiving his emails from YS, I didn't see anything wrong with it. But now that I am truly saved, it just stands out like a bowling ball in a marshmellow field!
I personally don't see how this has anything to do with YS at all. They aren't mentioned or even hinted at. I would really like to know how these are connected.
ReplyDeletethis video was posted on YS as a "featured" video of the week!! That is how it has to do with YS! It is something that they supported! Just like they support the emergent movement!
ReplyDeleteJust found it. Then you probably hated the free hugs video. They didn't even tell anyone about Christ the whole time they were hugging. I don't think that is Biblical. Also, the Christian commedian video is great. I had some of those very thoughts when i prayed that prayer when I was little.
ReplyDeleteWoah... the language!! How horrible!!
ReplyDeleteAnd to think that this youth group supports that person!
