You asked for it!

Obama wins the election.
You asked for it!

Obama wins the electoral college votes.
You asked for it!

Obama wants to bring in change!
You asked for it!

Can you remember a time when people asked for something and God gave it to them?

1 Samuel 8 comes to mind...
Israel Demands a King 1 Now it came to pass when Samuel was old that he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 The name of his firstborn was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. 3 But his sons did not walk in his ways; they turned aside after dishonest gain, took bribes, and perverted justice.4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, 5 and said to him, “Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.” 6 But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” So Samuel prayed to the LORD. 7 And the LORD said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. 8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt, even to this day—with which they have forsaken Me and served other gods—so they are doing to you also. 9 Now therefore, heed their voice. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and show them the behavior of the king who will reign over them.” 10 So Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who asked him for a king. 11 And he said, “This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariots and to be his horsemen, and some will run before his chariots. 12 He will appoint captains over his thousands and captains over his fifties, will set some to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and some to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers. 14 And he will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them to his servants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage, and give it to his officers and servants. 16 And he will take your male servants, your female servants, your finest young men,[a] and your donkeys, and put them to his work. 17 He will take a tenth of your sheep. And you will be his servants. 18 And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the LORD will not hear you in that day.” 19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, “No, but we will have a king over us, 20 that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” 21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he repeated them in the hearing of the LORD. 22 So the LORD said to Samuel, “Heed their voice, and make them a king.” And Samuel said to the men of Israel, “Every man go to his city.”

What have we as a nation asked for in this new president?
Be very careful for what you ask for! God is giving us what we as a nation asked for.

Religious freedom out the window??
Abortions run rampant and increase??
Taxes raised to help fund the abortions??
Gas prices will sky-rocket within the next couple of months??

Immorality will reign over our country. It has already begun and it is only going to get worse. Can you feel the Last Day's are upon us?

Put everything to prayer.
Spend your time reaching out to the lost before it is too late. There is not much time left. If we are not doing the Lord's work, then we are wasting our time. God is looking for obedience to His Word, not just smushy, lovey-dovey kind of love for God. He wants to see action. Doing His will while we are still on this earth.

If He comes back today, are you ready? Are your friends saved? Family members saved?
Or are you just concerned about yourself and meeting "your" needs?

You asked for a president to lead this country. Where will he lead us?
I don't know what the future holds with our president but I do know what the future holds for us from God.

Put your faith and trust in God while there is still time. Repent of your sins and be obedient to His Word.

The world is going down hill fast! Is this what you want for us?
You asked for it

lol.......this is exactly what I told my wife this morning!!!!

God is giving this country what it asked for.....

**Immorality will reign over our country. It has already begun and it is only going to get worse. Can you feel the Last Day's are upon us?**

Actually, I have to admit.....I'm excited PB.

I know that sounds crazy......I know His return is soon and I can't wait to go home!!

But, while I'm here......I have even more zeal to go out and witness and street preach because I know the time grows near.

I am in the process (through lots of praying and seeking) of starting a ministry called "His Feet on the Street". I hope to go out this coming Spring and participate in the 'Ambassadors Academy'.

Time is short and we need to be out there spreading the seed of the Gospel on every corner of every city.

Come quickly Lord Jesus!

His feet on the street! I like that! I too am excited about His returning to bring us home!

My wife and I are starting a new ministry called Feed Your Spirit Ministries and it is a combination of evangelism and discipleship. It is for young adults and will take place in our home. We already have 8 or 9 people who are interested in this. I can see it growing rather quickly as we get started. God has blessed us so much by providing everything we need for this ministry.

I want to go to the Ambassador Academy too. Pretty expensive but well worth it.

I've sent you two emails and have not heard back from you. Are they getting trapped in your spam catcher?

When I read your comment, it made me think of a group that stopped by our church recently.

Not sure if it would benefit you or what you might be trying to do but here it is:

Jeff, what was your impression of the group that came to your church? Did you like what they said?

Brian:

We are not too interested in the "prayer in school" aspect.

That sounds bad BUT we already have some good student-led groups going in school and in one school, we have an everyday prayer group.

What I am interested in and I am not sure if you "need them" to do it is to team up adults with the kids in school that are praying or are in a student group.

I would like to see it though go further and be a community effort among all churches and for us to have enough adults to adopt every teen in the hr high and high school. I think that could/would be powerful.

If a community did not have a group already on campus, I would suggest looking at them.

I think it's also important to note that while most Christians may not like the results of the election (despite the fact that we know God is in control, and it was obviously His will for it to go like this), we STILL need to remember to not only continue to pray for President Bush, but to also pray for the new president. It hurts me to see "Christians" ranting about how horrible the results are, how they aren't going to respect him, how they won't call him their president, etc.

I can't say I necessarily respect someone who says it's OK to kill unborn (AND BORN) children, but I mean respect in the sense that we can pray for him, not bad mouth him, or wish bad upon him, etc.

I've just noticed a lot of blogs from "Christians" in response to the election. It's almost as if they wish bad upon him, and it's sad to hear that.

Great post, by the way.

Oh, and Jason constantly says how it's sad that we don't live near you guys, because we would love to be part of your ministry!!! We're hoping to take a mini-vacation pretty soon after the baby is born, so perhaps we can head your way... we'll see. :)

good point Jessie! And yes, we would love to have you guys living near us!

one thing that comes to mind for me...

Aren't we told to love our neighbor?

And who is our neighbor?
Our neighbor could very well be the very person we hate (our enemy). So, even if we don't like what our new president stands for, we are to pray for him that maybe one day he will become a Christian. That is a sign of true love on our part when we can pray for those people we don't necessarily like.

Jeff, I like that idea. Kind of like being a mentor to the teens. It would provide an awesome learning experience for both parties involved. we will definitely be praying over this one!

thanks again
