THinking of your ealier blog it is notable that Spurgeon always points to Jesus and never to himself. He of course is right! Jesus plus nothing for salvation! - the works are the fruit of salvation!Question of Identityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15651248714592936545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-56961570640119191502008-01-29T16:42:00.000-06:002008-01-29T16:42:00.000-06:00it is long that's for sure! pretty powerful in li...it is long that's for sure! pretty powerful in light of the way many churches ignore Scripture and the need to repent of sins. Their idea of believing in God is relegated to a gooey feeling inside the heart!!pastorbrianculverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07325788116682801754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-65078100012478686192008-01-29T13:45:00.000-06:002008-01-29T13:45:00.000-06:00That is quite possibly the longest blog post I thi...That is quite possibly the longest blog post I think I have ever seen. You should retitle your site to Lengthy Posts That Take Much Time and Thought To Read Through. :)

I think a lot of people think Spurgeon was truly blessed by God. I think Spurgeon knew the calling that was place upon him and took it seriously enough to equip himself with a great working knowledge of the word of God and used it to His glory for the advancement of His kingdom.

j razzj razzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07584590268318839210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-44919689717431213882008-01-29T13:42:00.000-06:002008-01-29T13:42:00.000-06:00"Christ will save no heart upon terms and conditio..."Christ will save no heart upon terms and conditions; it must be an unconditional surrender to his government if thou wouldest be saved by him."

and it is from that terminology, that we come to realize what it means to Trust in Jesus. When we put our Faith AND Trust in Jesus, it is surrendering to Him, completely! The parachute analogy is a great one because when you are about to jump out of the plane you have to trust in that parachute to open and set you safely down to earth. Once you jump, there is nothing you can do on your own if it does not work (aside from screaming and flapping your arms!). Seems the people who scream the most are those people who do not know what it means to Trust in Jesus!pastorbrianculverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07325788116682801754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-66371651611980887162008-01-29T07:10:00.000-06:002008-01-29T07:10:00.000-06:00"Christ will save no heart upon terms and conditio..."Christ will save no heart upon terms and conditions; it must be an unconditional surrender to his government if thou wouldest be saved by him."

How many people want to do just that, want God to save them based on conditions?

Christ will have none of that. It's all about Him and what He does and nothing we can ever hope to do.Dawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06667201139980869656noreply@blogger.com
