The Mormon church has changed their views and their practices so many times over the years, that the mormon church loses ALL of its credibility based on that alone.

They actually did come over every night. They actually did pray in the name of Joseph Smith and Jesus. Why would they do this? Because Joseph Smith (according to mormonism) holds the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Just because you have never heard anyone saying a prayer like this, does not mean it does not happen. Unless of course, you are all-knowing. Oh wait, since you are going to be a god of your own planet, i guess you do have all knowledge!pastorbrianculverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07325788116682801754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-50554383655285424322008-04-01T12:16:00.000-05:002008-04-01T12:16:00.000-05:00"The Mormon Elders came over every night to lay th..."The Mormon Elders came over every night to lay their hands on me and would say, 'In the name of Joseph Smith and Jesus Christ, we heal you.' Every night, I heard the same prayers. After six weeks, I finally had enough."

Two problems with your story:

1. Mormons don't give blessings in the name of Joseph Smith. There are very strict guidelines and instructions in priesthood manuals on how blessings should be given. Those guidelines require that blessings be given in the name of Jesus Christ only. In 40 plus years as an LDS member, I have NEVER heard anyone give a blessing in the name of Joseph Smith.

2. The elders came over "every night" and offered the "same prayers"? Are you sure you're being totally honest and accurate here? Blessings are given and then the matter is left in the hands of the Lord. We don't give the same blessing over and over again, much less every night for six weeks.

There is a credibility gap here. This story sounds embellished to me, and you seem to be taking some artistic license in the telling.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-1527888689103972642008-01-11T12:58:00.000-06:002008-01-11T12:58:00.000-06:00BTW, that is not a picture of me under the ruler i...BTW, that is not a picture of me under the ruler in this post. I want to puke every time I hear someone say that.

As far as what you said about "Do you get it yet? God hates sin. Stop spending so much time saying God hates sin but loves the sinner.."

You're right, we do people a great disservice by telling them that. It was only after I heard a Paul Washer sermon I came to realize the same thing. Psalm 5:5--"The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity."Four Pointerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08709119227948492967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-29761276650726691612008-01-09T12:24:00.000-06:002008-01-09T12:24:00.000-06:00Pastor - a great blog I love to read and thought y...Pastor - a great blog I love to read and thought you might enjoy is http://absolutedominion.blogspot.com/

This gut is a fantastic biblical writerDawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06667201139980869656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-83943621840045507862008-01-09T11:55:00.000-06:002008-01-09T11:55:00.000-06:00What an awesome testimony Sir. I never used to weep.....lol. Heck, I weep like a baby when I hear hymns like "When I survey the Wondrous Cross" or "How deep the Fathers love for us".

Sorry for the digression......great post and thank you for posting it. Maybe someone who claims the name of Christ and is no more born-again than a ball in the weeds will come across this post and come under conviction to repent and trust Christ.Dawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06667201139980869656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6591518369598505341.post-72530363778011733102008-01-09T10:29:00.000-06:002008-01-09T10:29:00.000-06:00thanks for sharing your testimony!thanks for sharing your testimony!michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17918731275082085840noreply@blogger.com
